Our day in the Philippines with PAWS Philippines was laughter, games, new friendships, and a room full of people who showed up for the same reason: THE DOGS. None of it happens without the team behind it: volunteers, staff, and a partner whose work made the whole day possible. Baby Doge came for the dogs. Baby Doge left with more love than we brought 🐾❤️

Meet one of the dogs from a shelter we've gotten to know: three legs, and not the slightest idea that's supposed to slow her down. 🐾 He goes to the beach. He's happy. This is part of why we keep showing up at shelters across the Philippines, not to feel good about ourselves, but because every dog here has a story like hers, and most of them never get told. Over 13 million stray animals call this country home. That's why the Philippines is one of the places where Baby Doge is putting in the work, and where we're choosing to focus our attention.

Money donations keep a shelter running. But there's a kind of help that donations alone can't cover. A representative from MARO, the rescue organization Baby Doge partner with, told us what the dogs actually need more of: people who show up. Regular walks. Someone to hook up a leash and just take them out, get them out of the kennel and into the open for an hour. It sounds small. It isn't. So here's a reminder that has nothing to do with money: go hug your own dog today. That's the whole ask.

🐾 This is what happens when attention actually goes somewhere. Baby Doge and Paws Across PH invited the Cebu Creator Circle to spend the day at a shelter in Cebu. Volunteers brought food, supplies, and a full afternoon of hands-on care for dogs who don't usually get visitors. Attention is easy to get and easy to waste. We built Baby Doge to point ours somewhere real, at every dog still waiting for someone to show up.

We partnered with MARO and Happy Tails Philippines because a shelter that size doesn't run on good intentions, it runs on food, medicine and people who actually show up. Nobody wanted to adopt Rebeca. Until this happened → She's around two years old, rescued off the streets, and for months she went to adoption event after adoption event without anyone choosing her. Then she came to the Aurraia BabyDoge event and this time, someone finally said YES. Today Rebeca has a family, a couch she's definitely not supposed to sleep on (but does anyway), and more mess-making energy than anyone expected. Playful, affectionate, and finally home. This is what one event can change 🐾
