Kinda remarkable how the show post-2017 would just absolutely never do this again because it makes the main characters too complicated

School Reunion isn’t even particularly lauded as a standout of RTD1 but I’d struggle to find any scene in recent Who that reaches the heights of just this one scene. We used to have a base level of writing we took for granted that doesn’t exist anymore

There’s loads from series 1 but Rose has a speech in Parting of the Ways where she essentially summarises the entire core premise of the show and it’s beautiful

Boom Town is often considered a lower moment of S1 but blasts basically anything we’ve gotten in the last five years out of the water. One of the most complex moments of morality for the Doctor we’ve ever seen and it’s not even top 5 of the era because we got so much of it

Maybe I’m just insanely dense but in an era of alarmingly normalised transphobia I cannot wrap my head around the idea that this man is supposedly transphobic

I love this moment where Terrance Dicks absolutely refuses to interrogate the ramifications for the Doctor meeting his granddaughter again after all these years so Peter Davison adds all the gravitas between the lines. What an actor
