What do you think Fabian Hinz? Houthi ballistic missile fell near civilians in Raghwan, Marib, and appears to be a Burkan-3 or Zulfiqar. According to the DIA, the Houthis first launched the Burkan-3 in 2019 and displayed an identical system under the Zulfiqar name in 2021. The DIA assesses a demonstrated range of 1,200 km with a 250 kg payload and says the system is consistent with Iran’s Qiam or Rezvan MRBM. You can find the full guide of Houthi arsenal here:

The viral Houthi POW is getting the red-carpet treatment after his release. When he was captured, he reportedly said he only surrendered because he had run out of bullets. Now, footage shows Houthi officials visiting him and kissing his hand, with Abu Muayyad al-Hamali being hailed as an “icon” among the released prisoners.

Breaking | After the failed attack targeting the port of Duqm, Oman, most likely Iranian drones struck oil storage tanks at the port of Salalah. At least three fuel tanks are now on fire, with thick smoke spreading across the port. The full extent of the damage is still unclear, and more tanks may have been hit. What makes this striking is the target itself. Oman has long acted as a quiet mediator between Iran and the United States, hosting indirect talks and passing messages between the two sides. Seeing Iran strike a country that has historically played this mediator role is unprecedented and shows how far the conflict is spreading across the region.

I can now confirm that Saudi Arabia وزارة الدفاع has carried out three airstrikes targeting UAE-backed المجلس الانتقالي الجنوبي العربي (STC) forces in Nuhoub base, Ghayl bin Yameen, Hadramawt, Eastern Yemen, marking an unprecedented development that pushes the situation into uncharted territory. No casualties were reported, and no equipment was targeted, indicating the strikes were intended as a strong warning to vacate the base or face further action. The critical question now is what follows: 1) Will Abu Dhabi pressure the STC to scale back and withdraw? 2) Or will the STC advance toward Al-‘Abr and the Al-Wadi’ah border crossing with Saudi Arabia? 3) Alternatively, is there still room for a diplomatic and peaceful resolution to contain the escalation and prevent further violence?

We have been waiting to see these in northern Yemen. To the best of my knowledge, this is the first Houthi FPV drone using the infamous fiber-optic guidance system that became well known during Russia’s war in Ukraine. This one was seized on the Ma'rib front and appears fully intact.

Additional videos circulating on Oromo and Ethiopian social media platforms appear to show that the Oromo Liberation Front (OLF) has established an armed training camp in the no-man’s-land between Houthi-controlled Sa’dah in northwest Yemen and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. One of the fighters in the footage is seen carrying what appears to be a Saudi-issued G3A3 rifle.

Saudi-backed Yemeni قوات درع الوطن and Emergency Forces have received additional MRAPs and other supplies. Iranian-backed Houthis see these movements as preparation for a ground war. UAE-backed STC forces believe the reinforcements are aimed at them. The equipment entered through the Saudi–Yemeni Al-Wadiah border crossing, and locals filmed its arrival in Shabwah governorate.

Yemen War SITREP | Taiz Axis | Day 12 of the Siege | 3 AM Yemen Local Time | Video shared by عبدالرقيب الهدياني Raqeeb Al-hdiani captures a surreal scene as mosques across the besieged city of Taiz broadcast prayers while fierce fighting continues through the night. According to طه صالح, Houthi forces spent eight hours attempting to capture the strategic Jabal Han, west of Taiz city, but failed. The Houthis have since launched another wave of attacks from the Old Airport Camp (Former 35th Armored Brigade), triggering renewed fighting. The Taiz Military Axis المركز الاعلامي لمحور تعز reports sustained clashes along the al-Dhabab front west of the city and the al-Aqrud and al-Shaqab fronts to the south. Fighting intensified throughout the afternoon and evening as Yemeni government forces, backed by the Popular Resistance, fought to repel repeated Houthi assaults across the western and northwestern approaches. Despite repeated attacks, Jabal Han remains outside Houthi control. The mountain is a critical defensive position overlooking the city's western approaches. وزارة الدفاع aircraft are also reportedly conducting airstrikes against Houthi positions along the al-Dhabab front. Earlier strikes reportedly hit a Houthi armored convoy, including tanks and military vehicles, in Ras al-Najd, al-Misrakh district. Two morning airstrikes targeted Houthi positions on Sofitel Hill east of Taiz, while two additional evening strikes targeted a tank and a military vehicle along the al-Dhabab front. The Taiz Military Axis claims more than 200 Houthi fighters have been killed or wounded, alongside the destruction of an armed convoy and one military vehicle, damage to two tanks, and the downing of a drone. These battlefield claims have not been independently verified. Meanwhile, Dharar Mohammed Mughalis, a Facebook content creator with approximately 400,000 followers, shared footage of the fighting in Taiz and indicated that tribes in the Hujariyah region of southern Taiz are regrouping and appear to be preparing for another round of armed resistance against Houthi advances. Civilian mobilization is also extending beyond the battlefield. Female activist Hayat al-Dhabhani has reportedly collected public donations and used the funds to purchase ammunition and grenades for resistance fighters defending Taiz. Her reported efforts reflect the growing role of civilian fundraising networks in supporting the city's armed resistance. Inside the city, Taiz Police Director Brigadier General Mansour al-Akhali conducted a nighttime inspection of security deployments, checkpoints, and public markets.

Tell me you’re nervous without telling me you’re nervous. 😬 Houthi security and intelligence services carried out a major and highly visible show of force in Sana’a this weekend around the anniversary of Yemen’s September 26 Revolution, which toppled the Zaydi Imamate in 1962. The deployment included the Interior Ministry’s police intelligence apparatus, the Security and Intelligence Service, and rapid deployment forces, with convoys circulating around the capital day and night in tinted black SUVs, Chevyss, Toyota Land Cruisers, Technicals, and armored vehicles. The Houthis have long viewed September 26 as a potential rallying point for public mobilization against their rule, and this year the security presence came with its own social media production. Houthi-aligned accounts posted and amplified dramatic footage of the convoys, remixing the videos with Houthi war zamels and music associated with Iraqi armed groups for added dramatic effect. The message appeared aimed as much at deterrence as security. The security apparatus was everywhere, it wanted people to see it, and it was signaling that any attempt at organized street mobilization would face a rapid and forceful response.

Breaking | The 6th Military Region Command (MRC) of Yemen’s national army, backed by tribal resistance forces, launched an early-morning mobilization toward the Houthi-controlled Al Labanat base. Widely circulated videos reportedly shows a child in Al Jawf tearing down a portrait of Abdulmalik al-Houthi. Others shows what appears to be a large military convoy mobilizing along the roughly 60-mile route from Ma’rib toward Al Hazm via Al Labanat.

The Houthis have reportedly launched multiple waves of ballistic missiles and drones targeting the Al-Maashiq Presidential Palace compound in Aden. The Prime Minister د.شائع الزنداني is safe and unharmed, but casualties have been reported. A second wave of attacks targeted the Al-Bureiqa district of Aden. These attacks appear to signal the beginning of a broader Houthi military campaign against Aden. For months, Houthi leaders have repeatedly assured southern Yemenis that they have no intention of advancing into southern Yemen. Yet their ongoing military operations in Lahj, followed by today’s strikes on Aden and the seat of Yemen’s internationally recognized government, suggest otherwise. The attacks provide the clearest public indication yet that Aden itself is now a Houthi military objective.

UAE-funded activities are shutting down on the Yemeni island of Socotra. Circulated videos shows the dismantling of a site that was intended to host the UAE’s annual Sheikh Zayed Heritage Festival on the island. There are also reports that Emirati-linked business activities, particularly in the fisheries sector, as well as UAE-based travel agencies operating in Socotra, are closing down. These developments follow a decision by Yemen’s Saudi-backed, internationally recognized government to halt all direct maritime commercial shipping and airline traffic from the UAE to the island. To the best of my knowledge, there are currently no UAE military forces stationed on Socotra. The only foreign military presence on the island is a Saudi military task force operating alongside local forces. These local units have historically been aligned with the Southern Transitional Council المجلس الانتقالي الجنوبي العربي, but like other southern forces across South Yemen, they are now pledging loyalty to the Saudi-backed Yemeni government.

This video was recorded about 30 minutes ago on Al Fan [Art] Street in Abha. It shows normal activity, with no visible signs of disturbance. We are not seeing any open source evidence that a Houthi missile struck a structure at Abha International Airport. Most of the explosion videos circulating from Abha right now are old footage from the Yemen conflict between 2015 and 2022. We are not tracking any verified new videos showing explosions in Abha, so be careful before assuming those clips are recent.

Turkey-based Adel al-Hassani عادل الحسني, a former Southern Yemeni Resistance fighter who was later detained over suspected links to a violent extremist organization, has increasingly positioned himself as a mouthpiece for the Houthis against the Yemeni government and Saudi Arabia. In a video released today, al-Hassani appeared to justify the Houthi attack on a internal security recruitment center which killed 53 and wounded 200 by blaming government forces for failing to deploy air defenses, despite the widely known fact that Yemeni government forces lack such capabilities. Several southern Yemeni voices particularly أحمد عمر بن فريد have also condemned his inflammatory rhetoric and increasingly reckless approach, particularly his apparent attempts to justify Houthi attacks while issuing threats against government military forces in Aden. He then issued a 24-hour ultimatum to Major General Abdulrahman al-Lahji, acting commander of the National Shield Forces قوات درع الوطن. Speaking with extraordinary arrogance and bravado, almost as if he were the Houthis’ intelligence chief or chief propagandist, al-Hassani claimed that weapons and ammunition had been transferred from the Salahuddin military base to Saleh City in Aden. He demanded their removal to Ras al-Arah in Lahj or other areas outside Aden within 24 hours, warning that they would otherwise be targeted. Al-Hassani calls himself a peace activist, yet over the past two months, he has increasingly echoed Houthi propaganda, defended their actions, and directed his criticism and threats toward their opponents. His latest statements raise serious questions about possible coordination with Houthi networks in southern Yemen, including potential links involving individuals based in Turkey.

Yemen’s Vice President Tareq Saleh طارق محمد صالح says direct U.S. support has amounted to “just talk.” Tonight, القوات المسلحة الجنوبية المركز الإعلامي ل ألوية العمالقة الجنوبية اصيل السقلدي confirms the Houthis have captured Perim (Mayun) Island, strategically located in the Bab al-Mandab Strait. CNN International’s Nic Robertson was there just last week, gaining rare access to the island shortly before the situation spiraled. His report highlighted warnings from طارق محمد صالح and المقاومة الوطنية commanders about the threat to Bab al-Mandab, just before the dramatic overnight collapse of the eastern front, as well as their frustration with the level of U.S. support. Asked directly whether he was receiving support from the United States, Saleh answered, “Just talk.” Saleh also had a warning for President Donald J. Trump Donald J. Trump, arguing that what Yemen loses on the battlefield could ultimately carry an economic cost far beyond Yemen. “We see the high cost paid by the international community to secure the passage of few ships through the Strait of Hormuz,” Saleh told CNN. “If the Yemeni forces were supported right now, they will make more achievements with a much lower cost than the Strait of Hormuz.” The timing of Nick’s visit to Bab al-Mandab was unprecedented, coming literally days before the Houthi ground advance began. What happens next remains uncertain. Will government forces be able to retake the West Coast? The coming days may provide an answer. For now, we wait and watch how the front develops.

Intense fighting is underway in Yemen’s Taiz governorate, where Houthi forces are pressing a major offensive. The battlefield situation remains fluid and difficult to verify, but accounts from two Yemeni National Army officers involved in military operations suggest that government defenses have not experienced a collapse comparable to what was seen on the West Coast front. The Houthis are claiming major territorial advances, but the two officers tell Basha باشا that government forces, backed by coalition airstrikes, local tribes and resistance fighters, are engaged in heavy fighting to prevent Houthi forces from capturing Jabal Jardad. According to the officers, Houthi fighters attempted to advance from the villages of Al-Qarsab and Dar al-Kafir but were forced to withdraw after sustaining casualties. Fighting also continues around Rasin and Nu’man. The officers dispute Houthi claims of territorial gains and reports that the highway connecting Taiz city and Al-Turbah is at risk of encirclement. The offensive appears aimed at disrupting the strategic road network linking Taiz and Al-Turbah with Aden, the temporary capital of Yemen’s internationally recognized government and home to one of the country’s most important ports. Cutting these routes would threaten a key transport and supply connection between government-held areas. Separately, قوات درع الوطن anti-tank teams used a Kornet anti-tank guided missile (ATGM) to target a gathering of Houthi military vehicles in the Al-Manbah area of Al-Kadahah. Furthermore, the Houthi-controlled government compound in Al-Houban, north of Taiz city, was also reportedly subjected to heavy shelling.

I just finished a live interview on Al Jazeera English, where we discussed the latest developments in Yemen following the strike on Sana’a International Airport and the growing tensions between the Houthis, Internationally Recognized Government of Yemen, Saudi Arabia-led coalition in Yemen, and Iran. The anchor noted that this scenario closely aligned with the forecasts I shared with clients on 03 July 2026 and published publicly in recent days. While I assessed an attack on the airport as the least likely among several possible scenarios, I also emphasized that Yemen remains highly unpredictable, which is why our forecasts focus on cautious probabilities rather than certainties. During the interview, I explained that despite today’s developments, I do not believe we have crossed the point of no return toward a full-scale war. In my view, the Saudi-led coalition’s decision to allow the Mahan Air flight to land in Hodeidah was an important signal that regional backchannel diplomacy remains active and that key actors are still trying to prevent a broader conflict. I also noted that the next move now rests with the Houthis. My assessment is that they are likely to respond with drone and missile attacks against Saudi Arabia. Limited attacks would likely lead to a measured response. However, if they expand their campaign to target Saudi oil and energy infrastructure, especially aramco, the risk of a much broader military response would increase significantly. We also discussed the Houthis’ growing focus on Saudi Arabia, their deteriorating economic conditions at home, the possibility of renewed ground operations, and the ongoing diplomatic efforts by Oman, Qatar, and the @OSE_Yemen to contain the crisis. My assessment remains that we are likely to see a calculated, tit-for-tat escalation rather than an immediate return to full-scale war. That said, the situation remains highly fluid, and the coming days will be critical in determining whether diplomacy can stay ahead of military escalation.

The Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps Navy, فرماندهی نیروی دریایی سپاه, released two videos today accompanied by increasingly confrontational messaging directed at the United States. The first l appears to show the U.S. Navy U.S. Marines USS Iwo Jima USS Iwo Jima, LHD-7, an American amphibious assault ship. Based on publicly available imagery, the footage may have been recorded near the U.S. Gulf Coast around Texas several days ago, although that has not been independently verified. If accurate, it is unclear whether the IRGC is attempting to signal a capability to monitor U.S. naval assets beyond the Persian Gulf or is simply using the imagery as part of a broader information campaign. The accompanying message stated: “The movements and military assets of the terrorist U.S. military are under the surveillance of the naval forces of the Islamic Republic. The Americans are drawing closer by the moment to the zero hour for operations against U.S. Central Command naval forces in the region’s waters. Wait for it…” In a second video, the IRGC Navy shared footage purporting to show a precision drone strike against a tanker that it claimed had violated regulations governing the Strait of Hormuz. The accompanying statement read: “Footage showing the precise strike by an IRGC Navy attack drone on a tanker accused of violating regulations in the Strait of Hormuz. The IRGC Navy announced that the Strait of Hormuz will remain closed until the terrorist U.S. military ends its hostile actions in the region.”
