But we're led to that conclusion because the woman and the setting are so reminiscent of an earlier dream, and Chase all but confirmed that he understood the Dark Woman on the stairs to be Livia Livia did not believe in connections. It wasn't surprising to hear her tell AJ that "in the end, you die in your own arms. It's all a big nothing." For her, life and death were little more than big, meaningless voids. That's the horror waiting inside the house What saves him is Meadow. Her pleas, "Don't go, daddy, we love you," probably more than anything else pull Tony back from whatever precipice he was on. Faced with the choice of following the mysterious woman into the luminous Inn or turning back toward a young girl's voice, Tony chooses the latter. Tony chooses Meadow over Livia
