Once again an ‘edited’ video clip without context has gone viral, and people are rushing to judge Greater Manchester Police. Here’s the unedited version, from the start of the incident, where the young man tells a different Officer that he “wants to pi*s there” and points to a spot in front of the Arndale Centre doors. The second Officer arrives, and after being told to stand back from the Officer’s personal space, the male threatens the Officer with “touch me again…”, at which point he was arrested.

Here’s the Director General of the IOPC Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC) Rachel Watson at the Nottingham Enquiry today, making excuses for their investigations taking TWO YEARS to complete (some of which of course, still haven’t been completed). This is not the only time she was questioned about their timescales and made excuses, she was challenged a number of times. Of course we know that two years is actually quite ‘efficient’ for the IOPC, with some police officers having waited seven to eight years for the investigations into them to be completed. The IOPC is not fit for purpose!
