Václav Havel believed that truth was better than fear, freedom was worth fighting for, and Europe’s future belonged to everyone. He devoted his life to those convictions and helped change the course of history. On what would have been his 90th birthday, I’m remembering my friend with gratitude for his courage, his love of our common humanity, and the work we did together to bring the Czech Republic into NATO and build a Europe no longer divided. We also shared a love of music. So today, I’m playing a few notes in his honor. Happy birthday, my friend. The world could use more of your spirit.

America has become the longest-lasting democracy in history in large part thanks to generations of immigrants who have brought their talents, hard work, and dreams to our country. I was honored to welcome Pedro, who will help us write the next chapter of our American story.

This year’s Clinton Global Citizen Awards honored three organizations saving lives every day — and representing the thousands of frontline responders doing this essential work in communities around the world: Superhumans Center, Aaron E. Henry Community Health Services Center, and Mutual Aid in Sudan. If you’re able to help them continue doing it, please consider supporting them today:

I was honored this week to welcome 38 new citizens to America. This nation will never be perfect, but every day we can be better. To our newest fellow Americans: you are the symbol of better. You help us create a more perfect union. Thank you for joining our country.

I've been doing this a long time. We’re at a pivotal point in our history, and we need to elect a president for our country, our kids, our grandkids—ALL of us. Let's not grow weary in these closing hours and keep going. Finish strong for Kamala Harris, our future depends on it!

My new memoir CITIZEN comes out this week — it's full of reflections on how I've kept score through the years and why I'll keep suiting up.

I gathered some friends in Raleigh to wish you a happy birthday, Kamala Harris! You're talented, you're gutsy, and you've spent a lifetime fighting for what's right. The best thing anyone can do to celebrate your birthday is make a plan to vote:

I’m fairly certain this was a set up. Either way, it’s been an honor to write CITIZEN and more importantly to live it. I hope you’ll check it out!

Joe Biden has led this country with uncommon decency, goodness, and grace. The CGI community honors him not just for what he has accomplished, but for the way he has done it. Thank you, Mr. President, for your service to America and the world.

Today, 30 years after signing the bill, I’m thinking of the stories of countless Americans, including some I will never forget, whose families were strengthened by the Family and Medical Leave Act.

Happy birthday, Joe Biden! You’ve spent your entire life fighting to make America better, fairer, and stronger. We may be old school but nowadays that's a BFD. Enjoy your day, Mr. President.

During the Kosovo conflict, Albania helped humanity prevail — taking in nearly half a million refugees and serving as a vital partner for peace. Last week, I had the honor of celebrating the bonds of friendship between our two countries and seeing what’s possible when people embrace democracy.

30 years ago today, Ruth Bader Ginsburg accepted my nomination to the Supreme Court. I knew then she was the right choice for the job. Today, and every day, I am grateful for the enduring legacy she left on the court, and the lasting impact of her life of service.

Whether you’re the NEW YORK KNICKS or a new Clinton School of Public Service grad, practicing persistence and focusing on “the how” will serve you well. Honored to deliver the commencement address for the 20th graduating class of the Clinton School of Public Service. Can’t wait to see what they do next!

I’m thrilled to be back in Prague! As President I had the privilege of working with President Václav Havel and visiting the Reduta Jazz Club — one of the centers of the Velvet Revolution in what is now the Czech Republic. Last night President Petr Pavel invited me back to Reduta — a place that for me will always symbolize a country I’ve come to admire and cherish. 🎷🇨🇿
