He is asking the question that the silent, hardworking majority of West Bengal’s youth have been wanting someone to ask for a long time. Here is what makes this complicated for Mamata Banerjee. Her 2011 victory was built partly on ultra-left support. You do not bite the hand that helped you up. So the radical elements on campuses get cover, and students pay the price. West Bengal’s youth deserve better than this. And Mamata Banerjee knows it.
