Deni going through some stuff right now: “To be honest with you I’m just dealing with some stuff right now, I have the competitive nature of trying to be there for my teammates and compete but umm, it’s something I have to figure out with myself, with my teammates, with the coaches. Nothing to worry about, I’ll be alright. But it’s definitely a little moment I’m facing right now.” Casey Holdahl: “How do you think your back is right now?” Deni: “I can’t really say anything about my injury, or what’s going on, but I’ll leave it to the medial staff. I’m doing a good job of recovering and coming back, but I definitely don’t feel 100%”

Tom Dundon explained the hotel room story in Phoenix Says that since the Play-In game was scheduled so late, the hotel they were staying at wanted them to pay for an extra night and did not offer late checkout So they did that for the coaches and players, but for the staff, including Tom, since a ballroom downstairs was already reserved for lunch at 1:45, they did not pay for an extra room and instead had them hang out in the ballroom “If that’s too hard for people, then I’m not right for them. I want that culture”

Bill Simmons has the Spurs as his No. 2 panic team right now in the NBA Playoffs: “I think Portland’s legitimately good. Like Toronto? Bogus 5-seed. Houston? Bogus 5-seed. Portland? Frisky 7-seed. I think Portland’s a better playoff team than either Houston or Toronto”

Clingan on what he's going to work on this offseason: "Getting stronger. Getting faster. Being able to move my feet. Defend the perimeter more. My touch in that mid-paint section. Making sure the 3-ball is consistent." "I feel like just movement. Being able to move faster, better. Being able to pump-fake and attack the rim off the 3-point line. There's a lot of things that I want to work on and want to get better at, and obviously it's not all going to happen at once, but there's going to be a lot of time in the gym this summer."

This snippet from the end of Cronin’s press conference has me really thinking about what sort of deal he (supposedly) was close to taking but passed up on The clues are: - Would’ve sent Portland into Tax, close to first apron (~$7-8mil) - Would have saved other team “a bunch” of money - Portland would have received a “nice young asset” - Dundon would’ve had to write a check for $20 million (lines up with first clue, $7mil over tax is roughly $20mil penalty) Any guesses on what he may be talking about?

Bill Simmons suggests the NBA Cup final two rounds should be played in Seattle and Vancouver as an homage to the cities that got stripped of their teams “If you talk to anybody who covered the league in the 90s…[out of] any road trip they had the Portland, Seattle, Vancouver Pacific Northwest was always their favorite”

Adam Silver flew across the country to talk with Oregon politicians about Moda Center renovations and chat with influential Portlanders, such as Nike CEO Elliott Hill Thankfully, he took a few minutes to sit down with Brooke Olzendam At the end of their conversation, Brooke and Silver honed in on Senate Bill 1501 , where Silver expressed just how concerned he is for the city of Portland about the state of the Moda Center and how harmful he believes it would be for our bottom line if the renovations were to get put off any further:

Doc Rivers on the Blazers: “Portland is dangerous because Portland has size. And they have real defenders. They can defend 1-5. That series, San Antonio is going to win, but I’m telling you it’s not going to be an easy series.” “Where Portland will struggle is can they score?”

Zach Lowe confirms that Scoot was clued in before the Dame signing happened: "He was super enthusiastic about it, not threatened at all. There was this undercurrent of 'if I'm Scoot I'm going to be angry'...Scoot's gonna have all the runway in the world." (Via Zach Lowe Show)

Everyone likely remembers this game in Chicago at the end of last year — it's when Chauncey pulled the plug on the season and benched Shaedon and Deni as the Blazers were storming back from a 15-point fourth quarter deficit But what's backwards about Billups' decision-making is that he challenged an out-of-bounds call two minutes before subbing the two leading scorers out, which ended up working out in Portland's favor He was seemingly fighting to keep the Blazers in the game up until the point when they actually had a chance to win Dalano Banton still tried his best to steal the W 4 DAYS.

Deni was incredible last night, almost an A+ game in my opinion given the circumstances and the matchup But this one pass from him was the single worst decision any Blazer made all night The Spurs had missed 8 of their first 9 shots to start the 3rd quarter, ice cold Portland, meanwhile, had turned it over on 2 of their previous 3 possessions, not exactly in a rhythm themselves But we were chipping away at the lead and had multiple opportunities to take it; Deni just simply cannot throw the ball away like this in any moment, let alone the one that he did This immediately turns into a wide-open, run-sparking three-pointer for Champagnie. The Spurs balloon the lead 11 within the next two minutes and never looked back
