There is a "Pit assist" option that you can turn off, so you must park yourself. And yes, you can move on if you like, but calculate with the consequences :) If wing screws are not tightened properly they get loose pretty soon...

For some obvious reasons I have to rewrite my racing AI behavior. It never handled race starts too good. Probably this is the first version that is not a pile of crap. Still many improvements needed, but at least it's going somewhere. No sound this time.

The new weather coverage works nicely on all tracks. Here is a montage of how it looks over time. It takes about 8-10 laps to form a dry line, the rest dries naturally, but it takes much more time. I also cranked up the resolution a bit so now it consumes a staggering 40-50Kb.

Spent some time with penalties, and there is stop and go now. Some behavior is rewarded with time penalty, but corner cutting gives you warning. After the 3rd time 10 sec stop & go. Also you have 3 laps after overtaking on grass or during yellow flag to give back the position.

The so much requested turbo is here. First iteration though. AI driving, even with no traction assist they can still handle most oversteering. The dashboard starts to look like an airplane... Originally I wanted to get away without turbo, but eventually I got excited about it.

This track is getting very close to how the final look is imagined. In the meantime I switched to the pre-87 layout. The 1988 version seemed to be too modern :)

Not the best quality, but this is the extra track that I never showed and made after Detroit. (Just to make them 20) The track geometry is not optimized yet, so sorry for the crappy frame rate. Hope you still enjoy it. The AI is not that aggressive this time.

According to some folks, breaking the front wing on grass is a cool idea. If there is an option to turn it off, it's cool indeed! So there IS an option. ;) The standard rigid body extrapolation in slow motion is quite buggy but hey, look at the car and the smoke!!

Honestly, I didn't want to do this, but in one occasion I spun before the pit entry. I had to try what happens if I go to pit-stop in reverse... Not that optimal, but I'm sure I looks great on TV. :)

Thanks to dan e I started to fret about turbos... Well I made a quick test, which is not 100% yet, but I kinda love it. 1035hp. I had to increase the wing angles to make the car stick to the ground :) #gamedev #indiegame #hungame #simracing
