It's been a week of apologies from our news media. First it was Stuff's ThreeNews with a sort-of apology for calling The Platform NZ a faaaar right website. (Ironically they never refer to other news media as faaar left). Then it was Newstalk ZB apologising for making stuff up about a coup against Chris Luxon (he's still PM. interestingly) And tonight was state broadcaster 1News being forced to apologise for its TDS and misleading 'news' coverage. Not exactly a trust-building week eh.

For those who haven't seen the puff piece documentary "Prime Minister" on Jacinda's time as PM, there was a clip that I mentioned when I reviewed the movie that I found particularly appalling. Following the passing & celebration of the radical abortion bill which Jacinda had championed and which legalised abortion up to 40 weeks with the approval of 2 abortionists, there is immediately a scene showing her daughter playing on the PMâs desk. The scene selection was quite appalling. The cognitive dissonance was deafening.

ððBREAKING! In probably one of the most egregious acts of broadcasting, Celebrity Update cut their coverage of the US Presidential election abruptly tonight. They gave fawning coverage to Kamala and Beyonce, and then covered Trump's rally - but deliberately cut off the broadcast mid-sentence so that viewers wouldn't know about his interview with Joe Rogan Watch the Celebrity Update coverage and then watch what they cut. And then make a complaint. All we're asking for is fairness and balance. Is it too much to ask? (Rhetorical question!)

It's very sad watching the self-destruction of Candace Owens. I used to listen semi-regularly to her commentary on DailyWire - especially around the BLM debacle. I've commented on my concerns about her latest commentaries previously, but her latest claims about being visited by Charlie Kirk are bizarre. Have a watch. As i regularly say, credibility is hard won - but easily lost. I'm hoping (and praying) that Candace gets the help she needs during her apparent sabbatical at the moment. We need her voice - but not the current one.

Last night 1News claimed that they were innocent of what BBC News (UK) had done in manipulating the words of Trump. That's not the point! 1News has done the same selective splicing of what Trump was saying, to infer the worst. 1News didn't need the Panorama doco to commit the same journalistic sin.
