Green MPs always howl on about "dis- & mis-information" when they disagree with something - especially socially conservative values such as "only women can get pregnant". But when the Greens are themselves guilty of disinformation (aka - basic factual errors, or what we usually call lying), suddenly it's "the principle remains the same..." 🙄

TVNZ's TVNZ Breakfast were super excited about the "blessing" of a train station last week. It was so emotional, the host could barely get his words out. Drag queens - "I'm really big" - "we throw our bodies around" - queer, queer, queer - "find sisterhood" (what is a woman??) - "saved" A truly spiritual experience... Yes, a train station. 🚄

For those who haven't seen the puff piece documentary "Prime Minister" on Jacinda's time as PM, there was a clip that I mentioned when I reviewed the movie that I found particularly appalling. Following the passing & celebration of the radical abortion bill which Jacinda had championed and which legalised abortion up to 40 weeks with the approval of 2 abortionists, there is immediately a scene showing her daughter playing on the PM’s desk. The scene selection was quite appalling. The cognitive dissonance was deafening.

Not a single question zeroing in on any specific policy or how it would work or how much it would cost. Just a lovefest. Airy-fairy responses including: “constructive, big bold policy ideas (nobody knows what they are, and Samantha doesn’t bother asking what they are either), long term priorities, productive, innovative, work constructively, cross-pollination, stability” Thankfully they're only attracting votes from left wing Green & Labour voters. #election2026

OK - this didn't go well. Sean Plunket interviewed the new Opportunity Party Leader Qiulae Wong (a woman) on The Platform NZ this morning. Puberty blockers? "...culture war..." What is a woman? "Someone who was born or becomes a biological woman..." Can you become a biological woman if you weren't born a biological woman? "...There are examples where women can go through the process to have the hormones and essentially be a woman..." Can someone become a woman if they're born a man? "I'm not an expert, I'm not a doctor...." 🙄 xx

It's been a week of apologies from our news media. First it was Stuff's ThreeNews with a sort-of apology for calling The Platform NZ a faaaar right website. (Ironically they never refer to other news media as faaar left). Then it was Newstalk ZB apologising for making stuff up about a coup against Chris Luxon (he's still PM. interestingly) And tonight was state broadcaster 1News being forced to apologise for its TDS and misleading 'news' coverage. Not exactly a trust-building week eh.

National MP Vanessa Weenink tries to explain why National will potentially fold weak-kneed on the "Definition of Woman & Man" Bill despite voting for it in its 1st Reading. Not only does she tell complete porkies re the number of intersex (less than 2 in 10,000) but she argues that she doesn't know what the concerns or problems are warranting the need for this discussion... but then admits that she does know what they are. 🙄 Chris Lynch
