Richard Gere: We're living in the darkest moment that I've experienced on this planet. Whoever thought America could turn like this? Whoever thought that a maniac like this would be president of the United States and dismantle all the good things? America has never been a perfect place, but it has a perfect ideal that it's moving towards and always has, and it's been self-corrective. First day, this guy dismantled almost everything that was good about the US government and the US people. How is this even possible? Because we went to sleep. We didn't care. We didn't vote. We didn't really listen. You know, of course, I didn't vote for this guy, but I didn't do enough work to skillfully convince people around me. People close to me, not close to me, that this was insane to elect this person as president of the United States. We all have to take responsibility for this. But how quickly, this was in weeks, he had dismantled America. And you see how quickly our world can be taken from us if we fall asleep. And so we have to see the cues. We have to see the cues, this dictatorship of the monsters. How quickly it happens. We have to be vigilant. We can't sit back and go, "Ah, life is good, I'm fine. You know, I've got food, I've got money, blah blah, I've got my house, I've got another car, I'm thinking about this, blah blah, I'm okay. I know he's a bad guy, but it's okay." It's not okay! It's never okay.

BOLTON: It’s very curious that John Ratcliffe arrived in Moscow in U.S. Air Force C-17 transport plane. It’s painted gray. It’s a big plane. Normally, if you want to go quietly somewhere, you get on a little Air Force Gulfstream painted white with just numbers on the tail. You go in, and nobody knows who it is, they don’t identify it as a U.S. Air Force cargo plane. So there’s something that doesn’t ring right if he wanted to go in secretly. It’s too bad he doesn’t work at the CIA, where somebody could have told him how to be more clandestine.

McFAUL: If you look at UN votes, Chinese don't vote with Russians when it comes to Ukraine. They always abstain. There're 6 or 7 countries that vote with Russians. Tragically, United States is one of them now. Think about that. We vote in defense of Putin, while Chinese abstain.

🇵🇱 PM Tusk: I think that it’s not those who stopped Nord Stream 2 who should be ashamed, but those who built it. Germany is responsible for Europe’s dependence on Russian gas. And Russia turned out to be the aggressor. Germany shouldn’t prosecute those who, when their country was attacked by Russia, took one action or another. Poland, under every PM, warned and did everything to ensure that Nord Stream 2 did not become a reality. So that Europe was as independent as possible from Russian gas. Germans changed their minds too late.

KELLOGG: Putin doesn’t want to stop. Like Hitler when he said to British, “All I want is Sudetenland of Czechoslovakia.” British at the time said, “Well, we have peace in our time,” and they were proven wrong. And so I don’t trust Putin. He’s not going to stop where he’s at if a ceasefire or peace happens. He’s going to keep trying to extend and go further. But Putin has to understand that he’s not going to win this fight. He’s just not going to win. He has to get that in his mind. The longer it goes, the better Ukrainians fight. He has to realize this is a zero-sum game for him, he’s not going to win it.

Q: Moscow has said today that handing Ukraine blueprints to produce long-range missiles is going to “add fuel to the fire.” Is this path of confrontation one you’re willing to go down for Ukraine? 🇬🇧 PM Burnham: It’s not a path of confrontation. It’s doing what Britain has done since the start of this conflict. Which is to provide support for Ukraine to defend itself. That’s what we’re doing. It’s what previous prime ministers did. It’s what I’m doing. We’re continuing what we’ve been doing. Because Britain is not a fair-weather friend. I don’t think people would thank me if I weakened our resolve or gave the impression that Ukraine was no longer a priority. This is about European security at the end of the day, and it’s very important that we stand firm and show that. Particularly with there having been a change of prime minister, I felt it was important to come here and leave Ukrainian public in no doubt whatsoever of Britain’s support.

APPLEBAUM: Corruption investigations in Ukraine are coming from inside Ukrainian government. Try to imagine that right now in United States, and you can't do it. It's as if FBI were investigating Trump family companies, which is unimaginable, right? TARLOV: That's very funny. APPLEBAUM: In other words, these are Ukrainian inside the government organizations that are dedicated to looking for corruption and fighting it. And so, actually, what you have, this exposure of corruption, is evidence of democratic institutions working in Ukraine. The fact that so much is known, that it's openly discussed, that people debate it and talk about what should be done. That makes Ukraine right now a more open and more effective democracy than United States. Always keep that in mind when you talk about corruption.

Boris Johnson: Ukrainians should be given maximum possible help. Giving them Tomahawks would be a good thing. Billions of Putin’s cash sitting in a Brussels bank account should go to Ukraine. We should stop the trade in Putin’s sanctioned oil. That would make a huge difference.

Boris Johnson: The only person who can end war in Ukraine is Putin. Trump can’t do it. Zelenskyy can’t do it. Putin's losing 30,000 people a month, his economy is in trouble. He needs to be persuaded that continuing is worse than stopping. He’s worried that the minute he stops, the recriminations will begin. And his people will say, “Vladimir Vladimirovich, why did you kill 1.1 million Russians?” or whatever the number is now. “Why have you done this when we’ve achieved so little?” He’s terrified of that. That’s why he won’t stop. Somehow we need to flip the switch in his brain so he realizes that going on is worse than stopping. And going on is worse than stopping, because Putin is just going to keep losing people to no avail. Literally, a snail would get to Polish border twice as fast as Russian advance has in the last year. Russians are never going to do it. And Ukrainians are never going to surrender their country. So, point I'm trying to make is, the more pressure we can put on Putin, the faster we can do it, the better.

Mike Pence: If Ukraine has the ability to knock Russian ballistic missiles down, they're one massive step closer to victory. Right now, Ukraine is winning this war. They've stalemated Russians on the front lines, Brian, as you've observed. They've taken the fight to Russia with their drone technology. We don't need a massive infusion of American resources. But we need to make sure Ukrainians have the technology to confront Russian efforts using those ballistic missiles. Actually, some were fired when we were still there, and if you give them the means to do that, Ukraine's gonna win. They're gonna win a great victory not only for their freedom, but also for the whole free world for generations to come. Brian Kilmeade: It is, and Mr. Vice President, it's in our national interest for Ukraine to be successful. I think for you to take that long trip and put yourself at risk to do it shows how much it means to our national security.

KASPAROV: Why can't NATO shoot down Russian missiles over Ukrainian territory? When Iran attacked Israel, the Americans, French, British shot down Iranian missiles. Why can one shoot down Iranian missiles flying at Israel but cannot shoot down Russian missiles flying at Ukraine?

Hillary Clinton: Fastest way to end war in Ukraine is for Trump to weigh in much more forcefully on Ukraine’s side. Sadly, I don’t think he’ll do that. Whatever hold Putin has on him, he can’t bring himself to criticize Putin or take any lasting position of strength against him.
