By now I’m sure most of us have heard that TKR is suing the NCAA for a 5th season of collegiate eligibility. Kaufman-Renn was at PURDUE for 5 seasons, but only played in 4, redshirting his freshman year. Matt Painter brushed off this very scenario when he talked about it with Rothstein 10 days ago: “Trey wouldn’t apply for this, I don’t think”. Painter goes on to say there’s no way Purdue could take back Smith or Loyer if they sued over the 5-in-5 rule (with how loaded the guard-room is) but he never says that about TKR. Interesting. Hate the game (ncaa), not the player - I’d take TKR back in a heartbeat given the construction of this roster. God forbid Purdue benefits for once with these senseless rulings. FWIW, I’m fully expecting Enzo to be denied and TKR to not win this suit. And I hope I’m wrong because this year’s team needs at least one of them. 🚂🏀

Tommy McClelland cuts off Pat McAfee from closing the segment - “I gotta take these donors out so I can raise this NIL money, give me your top 2-3 Indy recs.” No pub is bad pub. Hope ~some~ in the fanbase have unwadded their panties in time to enjoy their weekend.

Sources tell BB that Purdue is looking into center, Cameron Fens, who recently received an injunction for a 5th year of college basketball. Fens (7’0, 260), played in the same conference as Oscar Cluff, and averaged 14 points, 9 rebounds and 1.5 blocks in 25 minutes-per-game last season )up from 9/5/1 in 18 mpg his junior year). Cameron Fens played at South Dakota, South Dakota State’s (Cluff’s former team) rival, but endured a season-ending injury in ‘2024-‘25 that kept the two h2h matchups with Cluff from happening. Looks like he’d be a great addition to this team, especially if Enzo Shahrvin isn’t cleared. 🚂🏀

Sinan Huan (7’0, 225) chose PURDUE over offers from Illinois, Ohio State, Northwestern, Alabama, Florida, and Creighton. PURDUE’s 2026 class, per Rivals: #33 Jacob Webber (#10 overall SG) #36 Sinan Huan (#5 overall C) #51 Luke Ertel (#7 overall PG) N/A Rivers Knight Huan had a great showing over the summer at the FIBA U19 World Cup where he averaged 5 blocks-per-game, the most in the event since Victor Wembanyama averaged 5.7 BPG in 2021. Sinan Huan, currently playing high school basketball in Maryland, is an ELITE shot blocker which will translate from day 1. It may take longer on the offensive side of the ball but he will, at minimum, give Painter and PJ Thompson size, mobility and skill to scheme with. Future projections should be taken with a grain of salt but Sinan Huan currently sits #12 overall in NBA Draft Room’s 2028 NBA mock draft which speaks to his upside. 🚂🏀
