A letter notifying the police of today’s peaceful march to Parliament marking the second anniversary of June 25th and stating that Kenyans will be marching countrywide, was delivered to Police Spokesman Michael Nyaga Muchiri by five lawyers. Here is the video we recorded as the letter was handed over in the presence of former Chief Justice Willy Mutunga, former Justice Minister and Senior Counsel Martha Karua, Professor of Law and Senior Counsel Kivutha Kibwana, Senior Counsel Gitobu Imanyara and Senior Counsel James Orengo. The police had sufficient time to prepare to protect marchers and ensure that no goons infiltrate to harm protesters or loot businesses. It is the duty of the police to protect lives and property for all and to arrest criminals. I have been in touch with some Kenyans who are in the Russian military. Our embassy in Moscow has refused to help them, and today they asked me to release their names: 1. Nicholas Kaino Kiprotich 2. Samuel Maina Kariuki 3. Kelvin Lemashon They are in Taunishevka, Western Russia, waiting to be deployed. None of their friends who have been sent to the frontline has come back alive. Uganda allowed dictator Museveni to promote his diaper-wearing man-child to head the military, and now they’re reaping the consequences. He is abducting, torturing, and killing citizens while live-tweeting his crimes. If Kenya gives Kasongo another chance, he and his family will be far worse. Watch and learn. His son is already running a matatu business, bullying police officers and competitors. The matatu business is mafia-like that’s exactly why Sonko remains a politician to reckon with even after impeachment. You can expect that Ruto’s son will be the one breaking legs and pulling out teeth if you’re foolish enough to re-elect his murderous father. Just last week, he abducted seven active citizens, tortured them, and dumped their bodies. Those abductors are a killer squad. It’s only a matter of time before IG Kanja, DCI Amin, and NIS Noordin begin capturing and killing those opposing Ruto. And we in the opposition remain stuck and unable to unite because one old, rich, cantankerous man claims he has 7 million votes and demands 75% of government in any coalition. Today, police shot dead four Kenyans protesting the fuel price hike. Murkomen held a press conference this evening and spoke at length about the loss of property, with only a brief mention of the loss of lives. In Kenya, human life appears to have no value. Protests happen all over the world, some of them violent yet police in other countries routinely use non-lethal means to contain them. The police have no business using live bullets against unarmed citizens except in truly exceptional circumstances. Murkomen also claims politicians incited the looting and violence during today’s protests. However, just as in the past two years, these allegations will likely not be investigated, and no one will be arrested or prosecuted. Blaming public anger on a few politicians is an insult to Kenyans’ intelligence. The cost of living has skyrocketed, and many can barely afford three square meals a day, while Murkomen wears million-shilling suits and a Rolex Yacht-Master 37 Rose Gold watch worth KSh 4 million. They are stealing from us, flaunting the stolen money through lavish weddings, parties, helicopters, and expensive vehicles, then turning around to ask Kenyans why they are angry. This government lacks sense, direction, and integrity. With 449 days to go, we will send this regime packing and hold accountable those who stole from us and killed unarmed citizens.
