She is one of the Members of Parliament who entered Parliament through the back door. She is a product of the illegal recalls that were initiated by the ruling party ZANU PF through the notorious Sengezo Tshabangu. Authentic voices like Hon Gift Ostallos Siziba & Pashor Raphael Sibanda were illegally recalled from the house of assembly to pave way for this nonsense. This is heist going on right before our eyes. Trymore Midzi’s father exploding with anger as he delivered a speech during his son’s funeral. Trymore was an MDC youth leader in rural Bindura who was abducted & killed by ZANU PF youths while campaigning for Morgan Tsvangirai & the MDC during the 2002 Presidential Election campaign.

Meet Zimbabwe’s Iron Lady Cde Margaret Dongo. ➡️ She dropped out of school in 1975 & joined the liberation struggle at the age of 15. ➡️ She was a member of the ruling party ZANU PF’s Central Committee till her departure from the party in 1995. ➡️ She was expelled from ZANU PF in 1995 for standing as an independent candidate in the Harare South constituency after the party attempted to sideline her for being too outspoken & challenging corruption within the party leadership. ➡️ Margaret was really frustrated with the party's deviation from liberation ideals, rampant corruption within the leadership & the rise of a ‘one-party state’ mentality. ➡️ After her expulsion from the party & her failure to win the initial 1995 election due to alleged irregularities, she successfully challenged the result in court & won the by-election as an independent candidate, becoming Zimbabwe's first female independent Member of Parliament. ➡️ On 19 December 1998 she together with Priscilla Misihairabwi Mushonga & Professor Kempton Makamure formed an opposition party known as Zimbabwe Union of Democrats (ZUD) ➡️ She became the first woman to head a political opposition party in Zimbabwe. ➡️ ZUD was unfortunately overshadowed by the formation of a mass opposition movement the Movement for Democratic Change in 1999.
