Dale Earnhardt Jr. Dirty Mo Media Pretty big impact. The steering wheel moved far forward enough that he hit the backside of it with his right forearm as his arms were bouncing around.

From what I could tell SVG was running the wall and getting closer to Hill on each lap. On the lap of the incident, SVG could not get to the wall because he was now too close to Hill so he decided to run the middle and go low. Hill also went low and ended up directly in front.

There have been a lot of opinions on the moves by Austin Dillon on the last lap but best way to analyze them is to look at the actual data so let's dig into his last two laps in a quick thread. Orange = Lap 407 Blue = Lap 408

Newgarden gained 6 spots on the first pit stop because his pit crew was able to complete a four tire change in just 4.96 seconds.

It looks like Wallace bottomed out on a bump which likely resulted in the rear shocks reaching the limiters inside of them. Once the limiters are hit, the suspension can no longer compress and the cornering loads are transferred through the tire, overwhelming the contact patch.

The quarter panels do channel a little air to the spoiler but it doesn't seem to be significant.

Larson ran into exactly what I covered in my recent column for Motorsport where the car was disturbed on the bumps and the shocks likely bottomed out in the rear which is basically like having ice under the rear tires as there is no dampening.

It looks like the 78 broke something between the transaxle and the suspension upright, possibly a control arm or maybe a half shaft which eventually caused further suspension damage. Watch the sparks when we slow down this view and you'll see the parts rubbing.

Always so cool to see something with truck arms get hustled around a street course.

For those that were curious about what was happening on the No. 88 of Connor Zilisch here, my guess is that the mechanic was likely turning clickers on the shock for compression or rebound. He was complaining about the car bouncing so maybe adjusting compression.

Incredible that there was an AMR safety worker talking to Newgarden less than 3 seconds after the car stopped moving.

My guess is that the Trackhouse cars went in the grass in order to pick up some debris to help make weight but I'm not sure why it suddenly became a big deal or why they were singled out as drivers do it often and they weren't the only ones that did it at Gateway. An example:
