Watching the Zambia 🇿🇲 – Ghana 🇬🇭 fugu banter, I realised it was never really about the cloth. What Ghana defended so strongly and with such unwavering confidence, was not just fashion, but heritage and a clear sense of who they are as a people. That reaction quietly exposes something about us too. Sometimes it feels like we either have not fully defined our own cultural identity, or we do not carry it with the same pride and certainty. Not because we lack history, but because we have not yet agreed on what binds us together beyond tribe, politics, geography etc. To our good people of Ghana 🇬🇭, please don’t take offense. This was just a friendly cultural appreciation. In many ways, it was a lesson in what it looks like when a nation truly knows itself. 🇬🇭🤝🇿🇲

A Paramilitary Officer 🇿🇲 trained to follow protocol and stay focused on keeping the Vice President’s motorcade out of danger got interrupted when he noticed that the person in actual danger was an epileptic child in distress just next to him and did something about it. This is compassion in its purest form. May God heal that little girl, and may we never run out of people like this Officer. I’m in tears 😭

CLARIFICATION: it was at this very moment, I fell for him and there was no looking back. The scholar and I have met in the virtual public square with fire more than once, and I have stood firm where I felt his narratives mislead the country. Some assume that because I openly challenge his positions, there must be personal malice behind it. Far from it. I argue with him because his words shape the nation, and I care about that. But in the quiet, I study his thinking. I learn from the very mind I contend with. I follow his work closely, I learn from his depth, his research, his insistence on anchoring discussions in history. That’s the irony of intellectual combat; you grow even as you resist. My disagreements do NOT blind me to the value he brings, and my critiques are not an attempt to belittle what he has built. And whatever our political differences, his work isn’t diminished in my eyes. His achievements as a scholar remain something any fair observer can appreciate, myself included. Thought I bring some clarity, good morning 🙏
