Blessed are You, Lord our God, King of the universe, who has kept us alive, sustained us, and brought us to this time. Good evening everyone. I am Rivka Bohbot, and my husband Elkana is home. I’ve been waiting for these words for two years, and I still find it hard to believe: this is it, he is here. My Elkana is well — but nothing has been simple, and nothing is as it looks from the outside. Over the past months, Elkana had no food, as shown in the videos that were released. He experienced abuse and great suffering, and before his release he was given a large amount of food so he would look a little better for the world’s sake — this was against the requests of Israel and the international organizations. Because of that, Elkana now suffers from stomach pain, he is swollen, but I am certain that my brave man will gradually return to good health thanks to medical treatment and his inner strength. Yesterday was the most emotional day of my life, more than Elkana’s and my wedding day, even more than the day our Ram was born. Yesterday I saw both my husband and Ram born anew. The embrace from both of them, the moment when, despite his weakness, Elkana couldn’t restrain himself and lifted and hugged him tightly. My child got his father back — and as a mother, I could not ask for more. Now it is our time also to heal as a family. Over the past two years, Ram has grown into a small man; he understands and knows only what it is to live without a father and wait for him. We need to rebuild our family unit and it moves me so much that finally, finally we are in the recovery stage. Many good people helped us reach this moment, the moment when Elkana begins to heal. I ask to thank everyone who supported and helped, everyone who encouraged and helped keep the subject of the hostages as the most important thing. Without the prayers and pleas, we would not have gotten Elkana back. Without the help of the people of Israel, the Hostages’ Families’ Desk, the security forces and the brave soldiers and women, this would not have happened. Of course, we wouldn’t have gotten Elkana back to life without President Trump, Ambassador [Witekoff?] and the U.S. administration, who did all they could to bring about the agreement. We ask to thank everyone — Elkana saw you from there, saw you in the streets, saw the signs, the vigils, the prayers, saw what those who were with him in captivity said; saw and was moved that for a moment we did not forget him. Thank you for saving him but also for saving me and Ram. On a personal note — I have won, and I have fulfilled my personal mission: my husband is here. Despite the difficulties with language, despite the fears and despair, the pain, the exhaustion, I fought and never gave up. Not for a moment did I agree to surrender life, to surrender love, I did not raise my hands, and this is a huge victory for me. None of us must give up hope for better days. I ask to remind that the mission is not over yet, and one must not think that one can stop the clock in Hostages Square or remove the yellow pin. There are still 21 hostages and one hostage (female) whose condition is unknown. They must return to eternal rest for their loved ones together with another hostage whose status is not yet known. We are here until the last hostage.

Dear Mr. President, Today is Day 644. This is my 92nd Shabbat… without Elkana. The silence at our table… it screams louder every week. My little son Reem looked at me and asked, "Mommy, will Daddy come home this week?" I didn’t know how to answer. Because the truth is — I don’t know. I am pleading with you… Please — bring Elkana home. Not just for me, But for our son. We cannot live without him. I have only one hope left… Only one faith that remains: That you — only you — can bring him back from Gaza. At any cost. Please.... Bring Elkana home. Now 🎗️

There are no words — our first Shabbat at home thanks to your strength, together and safe. I want to say a huge thank you to the Creator of the world who watched over me, and thank you to the soldiers of the IDF and the security forces of Israel — those who are with us and those who are no longer with us. In your merit, you have commanded me: life after 7.10.2023 will be different. Thank you to the security forces and to all our leadership who worked hard to allow us to once again see the light and the land. I wish a full recovery to all the wounded, and a huge thank you to Beilinson Hospital, to Tel Hashomer for their care and dedication, and to Yoram Shmuel, head of the council of Moshav Zion, and to everyone who helped. It’s important for me to emphasize that we must not rest or stop until we bring everyone home, until we bring the last hostage back home to a Jewish burial in the Land of Israel, and until we bring everyone back alive — as we are commanded to do. With God’s help, soon we will win — “With courage, the path is not frightening.” Together, we are a tremendous force — united, heart to heart. So thank you, of course, to those who reminded me that I’m not alone. Please forgive me if I forgot to mention something or someone — I love you all ❤️💪 There is no price for freedom. 🇮🇱🎗️
