Serial Sex Attacker Simon Levy Handed Whole-Life Order After Murdering Two Women & Raping Another. A serial sex attacker who turned London’s streets and Tube stations into his personal hunting grounds will never walk free again after a judge condemned him to die behind bars. Simon Levy, 40, was today handed a whole-life order at the Old Bailey for the sexually motivated murders of grandmother Carmenza Valencia-Trujillo, 53, and mother-of-four Sheryl Wilkins, 39, both murdered in 2025. He was also given concurrent life sentences with a 12-year minimum for the violent rape and assault of a third woman earlier that year. Judge Mark Lucraft KC, told the killer he was "clearly someone who ruthlessly exploits others for your own personal sexual satisfaction" and someone with a morbid fascination with sex, rape, and crime. Levy, who wore dark glasses throughout the hearing, showed no emotion as the judge declared: "You will be in prison for life." The rare whole-life term, reserved for the most heinous offenders means Levy will never be eligible for parole. There are less than 100 such prisoners in the entire system. Levy’s reign of terror escalated from opportunistic groping on packed trains to cold-blooded murder. In January 2025 he lured a vulnerable woman to a Tottenham car park, raped her, broke her collarbone, and smothered her until she lost consciousness. She survived and later told police she knew where her attacker lived. She was not properly interviewed until after two more women had been killed. In March he murdered Colombian grandmother Carmenza Valencia-Trujillo in a stairwell on the Aylesbury Estate in south-east London. Five months later, while still free on bail as a suspect in that killing, he struck again, smothering Sheryl Wilkins behind a wall near Tottenham High Road, in the same car park where he had left his earlier victim for dead. In court Levy’s surviving victim described him as a monster and a parasite. "He took away my soul that night and he took away my dignity," she said, describing the attack as worse than the trafficking she had previously endured. Sheryl Wilkins’s sister Lindsey Hicks sobbed as she addressed Levy directly: "You, Simon Levy, have destroyed our lives and we will never ever get over this." She added that she hoped he would rot in prison. Carmenza’s daughter Nazly Johana Fuenmayor Valencia spoke of an emptiness that can never be filled and a world "ripped apart." Levy’s history of sexual violence stretches back years. Convicted in 2021 for assaults in 2018, he went on to assault a female prison officer while inside. After release he launched a campaign of attacks on the Tube, later convicted of 11 sexual assaults on public transport. Police recovered press cuttings and internet material showing his disturbing obsession with rape and sexual crime. Despite this history he was repeatedly released on bail. Delays in identification parades, failures to oppose bail robustly, the return of a stolen travelcard that let him roam free, and a downgrade of his risk level all left him at large. The Metropolitan Police, British Transport Police and Crown Prosecution Service have all admitted a collective system failure. One senior Met officer has acknowledged that Sheryl Wilkins’s murder could have been prevented. The Independent Office for Police Conduct is now investigating the Met’s handling of Levy as a registered sex offender from his 2021 conviction through to his final arrest in 2025. A police constable is facing a gross misconduct investigation and a detective sergeant is under a misconduct probe over alleged failures in how they managed the dangerous offender. The watchdog is examining whether more could, and should have been done to prevent his reoffending, and whether officers followed proper policies and procedures. #UKNews #CrimeNews #London

Richmond Park, Gorbals, Glasgow, 12 July 2026. A protest in the Gorbals area over child safety concerns led to a confrontation that went viral after misleading claims spread online. The protest on 12 July was the second day of demonstrations following reports that two 12-year-old girls had been followed near Richmond Park’s children’s play area. Quroum Beg, a fourth-generation Scottish man who lives near the park, saw the march and began recording, shouting "I see you" and calling them racists. Protesters asked why he was filming. Beg replied that he was "just filming." He followed the group into the park. In the park, Beg filmed himself and said "Look at me, just one man against the hate march" before protesters asked him to leave. He then sat on the swings and continued filming. A protester shouted "You’re filming kids!" as his phone was pointed toward the play area. Police eventually escorted him away. A short, low-quality clip starting partway through the confrontation was shared on Facebook and Telegram groups with captions describing Beg as a foreign man. The clip was posted on X and widely amplified. Beg later released his own recording of the encounter. In the extended video, no children are visible with him. He appears alone when he leaves his home and confronts the protesters. While Beg actively escalated the situation by approaching and filming the protesters, the specific claim that he was targeting children is untrue. African Migrant Attempts To Behead Local Man In North Belfast. In a deeply disturbing and horrific scene straight out of a horror movie, a local man was repeatedly slashed in the neck in what witnesses are describing as a barbaric attempt to behead him on a residential street in North Belfast moments ago. The attack took place on Kinnaird Avenue shortly after 10.30pm. Locals were forced to intervene to stop the sustained and savage attack. Graphic video footage circulating online shows the victim on the ground, with the attacker, described by multiple witnesses as an African migrant, straddling him and making repeated slicing motions with a blade to the neck and head area. Bystanders can be heard screaming, with one shouting about the attacker cutting his head off as blood visibly pooled on the pavement. The suspect, in a frenzied state and shouting rhythmic chants in a foreign language continued the assault even as locals intervened to stop him. Police Service of Northern Ireland officers arrived and arrested the man at the scene. The victim was rushed to hospital with serious injuries, where he remains in a critical but stable condition. No updates on his identity have been released, but he is understood to be a local man from the area. A PSNI spokesperson confirmed: "Police in north Belfast are currently in attendance at Kinnaird Avenue following the report of a stabbing incident shortly after 10.30pm on Monday 8th June. A man has been arrested in relation to the incident and is in police custody while a second man has been taken to hospital with serious injuries." Man Charged With Assaulting Woman, Child & Police Officers In Scotland. A 25-year-old man whose name has not been released has been charged after a shocking early morning rampage in a peaceful Scottish suburb, where he terrorised a woman and a young child before turning his fury on police officers. The disturbing incident took place around 9am on Monday, June 15, on Braeside Drive in Barrhead, East Renfrewshire, as families were beginning their day. Police rushed to the scene after frantic reports of a man running wildly through the traffic, darting between cars and trying to get into vehicles in what witnesses described as completely erratic and frightening behaviour. Police Brutality: 15-Year-Old Impaled on Spiked Railings by Suffolk Police. Shocking CCTV from the First Light Festival in Lowestoft, 21 June 2025, shows officers slamming 15-year-old Rocco Kirkpatrick, who was not under arrest, into spiked metal railings while trying to handcuff him. Turkish Sex Criminal Deported On Holiday Flight With British Families. Horrified passengers, including families with children, endured a nightmare 90-minute ordeal after a Turkish national was escorted onto a scheduled Wizz Air commercial flight from London Gatwick to Istanbul last Tuesday, May 13. Witnesses described chaotic scenes as officials in high-visibility jackets dragged the handcuffed detainee, understood to have served time in a UK prison for sex offences, up the aircraft stairs before forcing him into the rear of the Airbus, while the man repeatedly shouted no and violently resisted officers. Tunisian Care Assistant Convicted Of Sexually Assaulting Five Women In Under 90 Minutes In Jersey. In another episode of diversity Is our strength, a Tunisian care worker who had only just started his job looking after vulnerable people in Jersey has been convicted of a shocking series of sexual assaults on five women in a disturbing early-morning rampage. Abdelkarim Arfaoui, 27, was today found guilty of all ten charges after a jury deliberated for just four hours in the island's Royal Court. The attacks took place in St Helier on Sunday 30 November 2025 between 6am and around 7:20am, a spree lasting just under 90 minutes. Arfaoui, who had been living in Jersey for only six months and had recently started work as a care assistant, was convicted of one count of attempted rape, five counts of sexual touching without consent, one count of grave and criminal assault, two counts of common assault, and one count of threatening or abusive behaviour. Prosecutors told the court Arfaoui first targeted a woman walking through town. He walked alongside her, begged her for sex, and when she refused, he forcibly kissed her, tried to strangle her three times, at one point leaving her unable to breathe, grabbed her breasts, tackled her to the ground and attempted to rape her. He then prowled the streets and attacked four more women who were simply going about their business, heading to work or the gym. He followed them, made inappropriate sexual comments, groped them, kissed them without consent, violently assaulted one and verbally threatened others. CCTV footage helped police track Arfaoui. He was arrested shortly afterwards. During his trial, Arfaoui claimed he was "blackout drunk", lost because he was new to the island, and was only asking for directions. The jury rejected this defence. In a particularly shocking twist, Arfaoui had only recently been employed as a care assistant in Jersey. He told the court he had been out celebrating after receiving his first paycheck. This means islanders, through taxes and care fees, were effectively paying a man later convicted of attempted rape and multiple sexual assaults to have access to some of the most vulnerable people in society, including the elderly and disabled, who rely on carers for their dignity and safety. Thankfully, the attacks on the five women happened before he had been in the job long, but the very fact he was cleared to work in care raises serious questions about vetting and safeguarding in the caring industry. Jersey Police welcomed the verdict and praised the bravery of the five women who came forward. Detective Inspector Christina Maclennan said the outcome should give the victims some sense of closure and shows that offenders will be held accountable. She described Arfaoui as a dangerous sexual predator. Detective Constable Jack Maguire added that it was "because of their evidence that a dangerous sexual predator has been convicted." The force noted that such offences remain very rare on the island. Arfaoui, who is originally from Tunisia, remains in custody at HMP La Moye after being convicted on all ten charges. He is due to return to the Royal Court on Friday, where the court will set a date for his sentencing. Palestine Action Activists Who Vandalised British Arms Factory and Injured Police Officer With Sledgehammer Are Jailed. Four Palestine Action activists known as the Filton Four were sentenced today at Woolwich Crown Court for their involvement in a destructive raid on an Israeli defence company’s factory in Filton, near Bristol. The group, which included an activist who struck a female police officer with a sledgehammer, causing a spinal fracture, drove a van through the perimeter fence and caused more than £1 million worth of damage to equipment. In a significant ruling, the judge applied a terrorism connection to their sentences, a first for this type of protest case even though they were not charged under terrorism laws. This reflects the court’s view that the action was intended to influence government policy through serious criminal damage. Samuel Corner, 23, was jailed for 8 years and 8 months. Charlotte Head, 30, and Leona Kamio, 30, each received 6 years. Fatema Zainab Rajwani, 21, was sentenced to 5 years and 8 months. Footage from the incident on 6 August 2024 showed the masked group dressed in red boiler suits using hammers and crowbars to smash drones, computers and other equipment inside the Elbit Systems site. Corner was convicted of inflicting grievous bodily harm on Sergeant Kate Evans after striking her with a sledgehammer twice during clashes with police. He was cleared of the more serious charge of GBH with intent. Mr Justice Jeremy Johnson ruled that the offence had a terrorism connection because it was designed to intimidate the government and disrupt operations linked to what the activists called British complicity in Gaza. The defendants knew Palestine Action’s goal was to shut down the Elbit site. As a result of the terrorism uplift, the four will serve at least two-thirds of their sentences in custody and face strict post-release monitoring requirements, similar to those for terrorism offenders. Outside the court, police arrested 72 people protesting in support of the group and the now-proscribed Palestine Action organisation. Many were waving Palestinian flags and displaying signs backing the banned group. The government has so far remained silent on the mass arrests. Amnesty International and various campaigners, have described the sentences as disproportionate and an attack on protest rights. More than 100 public figures had urged the judge not to apply the terrorism connection. The activists had already spent significant time on remand. Their first trial saw them cleared of aggravated burglary, but a retrial led to convictions on the criminal damage charges. The proscription of Palestine Action last year has heightened the stakes around such actions.
