GRAPHIC: CBP officers shoot another person in Minneapolis at point-blank range. Footage obtained exclusively by BT shows federal officers on Nicollet Ave. on top of a man on the ground, before one CBP officer pulls his gun and repeatedly fires. Witnesses say that after the shooting CBP then walked down the block filming bystanders. Nothing else is known at this point about what preceded this, the identity of the man shot, or his current condition. FBI agents and an ambulance are at the scene.

"I am not afraid of Russia invading us. To me, that is absolute nonsense." Students across Germany walked out of classes Friday, joining a nationwide school strike against against mandatory military screenings in preparation for war with Russia. In Hamburg, hundreds of students and activists marched through the city carrying placards and banners reading “Russia is not our enemy.” The mobilization there coincided with Red Storm Charlie, a Bundeswehr-led civil-military cooperation exercise hosted in the city this weekend that organizers say is an unnecessary preparation for war. Though German military service remains voluntary for now, new legislation at the start of this year requires all 18-year-old men to complete a questionnaire about their willingness and suitability to serve. Starting next year, men born in 2008 and later will be required to submit to mandatory medical examinations by Germany’s military healthcare system. If recruitment targets are missed, the Bundestag can vote to impose conscription, which it suspended in 2011 but never abolished.

“SpaceX should not come here at all. Leave us alone.” Governor Jeff Landry confirmed on Tuesday plans for “Starbase Louisiana,” a $100-billion SpaceX launch facility near Louisiana's Pecan Island. "Gator Queen" Liz Choate, former star of "Swamp People," told BT News she and her neighbors have been shut out and kept in the dark about the plans. Elon Musk recently announced a partnership with Nvidia to develop orbital space-based data centers, leading to speculation that the more than 130,000 acres acquired in the Pecan Island land deal could be used for natural gas extraction and solar power infrastructure to support these plans as well. Pecan Island is one of the last undeveloped stretches of Louisiana coastline and is a critical route for migrating birds. It was acquired by the state for SpaceX’s development from Exxon Mobile, which has leased it for public use since the 1950s.

A victory for community defense: ICE agents in Ventura County, California were completely surrounded and confronted by furious community members and stopped from arresting a mother and father on their way to work, with their children in the back seat of their car. Dozens of community members had joined rapid responders from VC Defensa to push federal immigration officers out of the neighborhood on Monday evening. DHS continues to deny its 45-day Operation Safe California surge, which began on October 5 and has seen increased ICE presence in designated sanctuary cities and communities up and down the state’s coastline, with sources reporting that ICE agents were instructed to "go after anybody." Community defense organizations like VC Defensa have reported hundreds of detentions and arrests in the last week in the Central Valley and Southern California.

“We’re the Blackest city out here, so they don’t want to check on us.” More than 20,000 residents in Gary, Indiana have been without power for almost two weeks after massive storms tore through the area, knocking down trees and power lines. NIPSCO is the only energy provider in the area, and they reported more than a half a billion dollars in profit in the first half of 2026. “We don’t pay, we get cut off. But when disaster happens, they want to charge us. They have billions of dollars, we’re working day-to-day.” Gary residents are banding together to provide for each other amidst the blackouts, providing community meals and phone charging stations at community centers.
