Yeah But Cyclists

Shorts

British SUV owners in the winter thinking they're invincible because they've got AWD, even though they're running 40 profile summer tyres and have no idea how to drive in snow:

Everyone knows the speed limit becomes irrelevant as soon as there's a cyclist in front of you. The only thing that matters in that situation is getting in front of them at all costs.

A trained and licensed motorist encounters a mini roundabout

A great demonstration of why you have to pay complete attention at all times while driving.

A cyclist takes an unconventional approach to dealing with a vehicle that's parked in a bus lane

A trained and licensed motorist uses their high level of training and knowledge of the highway code to perform a textbook safe and legal overtake of a cyclist

A trained and licensed motorist fails to spot a cyclist after they come out of nowhere dressed all in black with no high vis or lights

POV: you're driving along a dual carriageway and a trained and licensed SUV owner decides to ruin your day.

An SUV owner visits a pub

Two untrained and unlicensed pedestrians almost cause a collision with a trained and licensed motorist when they unexpectedly run out into the road with no high vis or lights

It's sad that this has to be done, but until trained and licensed motorists start acting like adults, it will always be necessary.

A group of pedestrians fail to show respect to a motorist at a zebra crossing

I'm gonna say it. People who ride fixies in public without a front brake are fucking wankers. It's illegal and dangerous, as we know from that one famous case. Please keep these things on the track.

Meanwhile, trained and licensed motorists

POV: you're an SUV owner

A cyclist, who is moving more slowly than the pedestrians on foot around them, suddenly becomes a monumental danger to everyone's safety by virtue of them being sat on top of two wheels

As a cyclist, you simply cannot win. Don't use your bell to warn someone you're coming up behind them? You're hated. Use your bell to warn someone you're coming up behind them? You're hated.

A fucking moron on a Lime bike carelessly rides into a group of people crossing the road and collides with one of them. Remember that a green light does not mean you can simply plough through people in the road, even if they shouldn't have been there.

Trained and licensed motorist mentality: "I have to wait in this queue, so cyclists should also have to wait" 🙄

A reminder that high visibility clothing may assist in helping others see you, but it doesn't guarantee it.

POV: you encounter a trained and licensed motorist

A cyclist dispenses some justice after being sexually assaulted by the occupant of a van

A trained and licensed motorist demonstrates their absolutely exceptional knowledge of the highway code

Defender owners in the UK will see an advert where it's blasting around sand dunes or snowy mountains and think they need one to drive around Surrey. The reality is actually far different. This is possibly the most insane 162 seconds of SUV ownership ever caught on video.

Today in SUV ownership 👇

A cyclist gets stopped by the police after riding like twat on Tower Bridge. The altercation that follows is somewhat ridiculous 😂

A pedestrian has the AUDACITY to cross the road when the traffic has a green light

POV: you encounter a trained and licensed motorist while navigating a roundabout

A trained and licensed motorist loses control and crashes while driving in a straight line on an empty road

A cyclist - unfortunately dressed all in black with no high vis or lights - encounters a trained and licensed motorist.

People who have done a test for ability, payment of insurance and payment of road tax, famously not being an absolute nuisance on the roads:

An SUV owner goes out for a drive, but forgets that residential streets are not motorways

A trained and licensed motorist joins a motorway but fails to spot a heavy goods vehicle with no high vis or lights

An SUV owner encounters a charity event and unsurprisingly decides to ruin it because simply waiting a few seconds is completely unacceptable when you own an SUV

James May gets it absolutely spot on in this video and honestly it's quite refreshing. I see a lot of parallels with my own driving. It's the zen method - making progress but not rushing. Just because I'm in a car, it doesn't make me better than anyone who isn't in a car.

A cyclist encounters an SUV owner, and it goes *exactly* how you would expect.
