Farmers must obtain prior approval and submit their full name, the exact location of their land, the nature of the work, the number of workers, a contact number, and even a photo of any vehicle that will be present. According to the Lebanese Ministry of Agriculture, 6,600 hectares of olive-producing areas have been partially or completely destroyed by Israeli aggression, which includes the use of white phosphorus, bulldozing trees and uprooting and stealing them. Recently we sat down with the mayor of Kfarshouba, who told us about the arduous process to obtain the proper permits to farm his own land. Israeli forces have been bombing south Lebanon all morning. Last night, they conducted another massive civilian home and infrastructure detonation in the town of Haddatha. This is an act of genocide. Genocide is defined under Article Il of the 1948 UN Genocide Convention as any act committed with the intent to destroy, in whole or in part, a national, ethnical, racial, or religious group. One of the five acts is “deliberately imposing destructive life conditions.” More than 65 towns and villages in Lebanon are still under Israeli occupation and are undergoing daily illegal civilian home and infrastructure demolition.

The massive explosion underneath Beaufort Castle was heard across south Lebanon. Heavy dust blanketed parts of Nabatieh and Marjayoun, and the blast shattered windows in nearby villages and towns. The video below is from Marjayoun. Lebanon sits atop three major geological fault lines and geologists have warned that an explosion of this magnitude could potentially release built-up tectonic stress, increasing the risk of seismic activity along the fault line extending from Lebanon into Palestine.

This afternoon the young man seen running from the vehicle received a call from the Israeli army telling him he could die alone or die with his family in the car. He ran from the vehicle into a field and was struck and killed by an Israeli drone. This is not the first time that the Israeli army has used this tactic. It is pure barbarism. Abject terrorism.

These are armed Israeli surveillance drones flying over Lebanon right now. Not only are they used for data collection, they’re also used as a form of psychological terrorism. The sound you hear in the video is from inside my apartment. The persistent buzzing of military drones can inflict severe psychological trauma on civilians, especially children, causing anxiety, sleep deprivation, hypervigilance, and PTSD. The omnipresent sound creates a constant sense of being surveilled and an ever-present threat of sudden death. Hi! Nederlander hier. I have been targeted multiple times by the IDF while reporting on their activities in Lebanon. I have made the Dutch embassy aware each time. I have been shot at as recently as four weeks ago, had a grenade dropped close to me by an Israeli quadcopter and last year I was chased by a Merkava tank while reporting about an illegal IDF base in Houla. Almost all incidents were caught on video. Israeli snipers have shot at me 8 times (I am legally in Lebanon, they are not) Will you wait until they kill me to make a statement about specifically Israel’s murder spree? How many hundreds of us do they have to kill before you hold them accountable? They have killed almost 30 media professionals in Lebanon alone. They are loud and they are low, and we never know when or who they will strike next. We are living in a hell created by billionaires profiting from the defense industry. Drones are already being tested out by some American police departments.
