The difference between men and boys. There always comes the day they have to test the ‘old man’ around them and they quickly find out what that grown man strength means. My son tried it once….and only once with his dad! 😂

Look, Louisiana has some incredible restaurants, but don’t you dare sleep on those gas station buffets. They may not have a Michelin star hanging on the wall, but somewhere in that kitchen is a mawmaw, granny, memaw, or Mémère cooking from a recipe that has never been written down—and measuring every ingredient with her heart. Fried chicken, rice and gravy, red beans, crawfish étouffée, and a piece of cornbread that could make a grown man emotional. Michelin can keep its stars. The real stars of Louisiana food are standing behind a gas station counter asking if you want a little more gravy on that.

It’s that time of year again, and like clockwork, they descend on the school in droves—parents who have been ghosts all year, suddenly outraged that their child is failing. They storm in during the final week, demanding answers, meetings, and miracles, as if the report card is some cruel surprise. Never mind the 10, 15, or even 20+ notices we sent home. Never mind the repeated phone calls, the emails, the texts begging for a parent conference. We reached out relentlessly, but radio silence was the only reply… until now. As teachers, we’ve learned the hard way to protect ourselves and our sanity. I keep meticulous records of every single contact attempt—every note sent, every call made, every voicemail left, every email and text. Each student has their own folder in my binder, a complete paper trail of our good-faith efforts. Because this end-of-year ambush is so predictable, our school sets aside a full day just for these parents. We line up tables in the gym like a tribunal of truth. Parents file in one by one. They give us the child’s name, and we calmly retrieve that thick folder. Then, as the complaints and accusations start flying—“You never told me!” “This isn’t fair!”—we begin the quiet, powerful ritual. One by one, we pull out each piece of documentation and lay it on the table in front of them. Dated. Detailed. Undeniable. The yelling fades. The bluster dies. The finger-pointing stops cold as the evidence stacks up right before their eyes. Why not get involved with your child’s education? We have proven data that children whose parents are engaged with the teachers and involved with the school are more successful.

The homeowner bet it would collapse. But one mason built stairs that float in mid-air — using a 700-year-old secret no one believed would work. This mason built stairs with NO support underneath. Everyone thought it would collapse. The secret? A 700-year-old Catalan vault technique — thin bricks laid in curves that lock by compression, no steel or heavy beams needed. Mind-blowing traditional engineering still used today. Who else wants to walk on these floating stairs? Would you trust these stairs?

This might be the most American thing I have ever seen. A front porch, an American flag, and a golden retriever lying on the porch as the flag brushes across his back. This is home! ♥️🤍💙

What is the answer for this? I know some people genuinely need wheelchair assistance, and I understand that not every disability is visible. But let’s stop pretending nobody is taking advantage of it. On our last flight, there were at least a dozen wheelchairs lined up to board. I have been flying for years, and you used to see one or two. Now, some airport concourses look like wheelchair parking lots. Cruises and cruise lines are the same. Those chairs are for people who truly need help, not people who are too lazy to walk through the airport or stand in line. Abusing the service only makes it harder for the people who genuinely depend on it.

Are we done with gentle parenting, yet? This is a direct result of bad parenting! Teach your children that actions have consequences! Miserable children grow up to be miserable liberals!

Two women on this homemade counterweight swing — one person’s movement swings the other like a seesaw. We created our own tire swings, rope swings, and even a few chain swings, but this is crazy! I would absolutely give it a try 😂 Would you try this homemade swing setup with a friend? Looks fun but is it actually safe?
