We think Mayor Brandon Johnson should do something about the CFD Station at 12701 South Doty. It houses Engine 80, Truck 61, and Amb. 51. The conditions are utterly deplorable. According to our source, the station floods when it rains, but it isn't merely groundwater; it's sewage backup. Despite appeals to correct this quagmire, the city has declined to complete necessary repairs. Over July Fourth, the firehouse flooded again, multiple times, forcing CFD personnel to carry out clean up without the benefit of any sanitary material. On Friday, flooding began at 9 p.m., but plumbers only arrived after 1 a.m. We're told human waste floated on the apparatus floor, bunk room, and officers' quarters. Imagine if the mayor's office or Annette Nance-Holt's office flooded. The repairs would be immediate and lasting. This is a safety and health issue. Shouldn't Chicago do something about this revolting situation? We certainly think so.

Furthermore, the Obama Center is located in Hyde Park, one of the most affluent neighborhoods in Chicago. Hostin is uniquely clueless.

According to our math, the 760 teachers laid off could mean CTU loses up to $1,100,000 in member dues. A $1.1M loss is pretty stiff, considering how CTU is desperate to keep control of the Board of Ed. It's also worth considering whether Stacy knew layoffs of this scale was coming. We think she did. CORE will make you poor.

The three most important questions not asked: First: Why are businesses being blamed for this shooting? Second: How does Ald. Knudsen vote in City Council on public safety issues? Third: For whom did this resident vote in the last aldermanic election?

Of the long series of scandals associated with Alexi Giannoulias, the issuing of 10K CDL licenses to illegals is the most egregious. This is neither a minor controversy nor right-wing hysteria. Johnson is admitting he will be getting policy ideas for Chicago from the dumbest mayors leading the worst-run cities in the country. Chicago is cooked.

No wonder trust in media is so low. Some Chicago media figures are just plain dumb. Listen to City Cast's Simone Alicea describe her surprise when she learned Cook County sheriffs were cuffing fare evaders or people vaping on the CTA. What Alicea doesn't understand is some criminals are armed or have violent pasts, even though they may be arrested for minor offenses. She called sheriffs cuffing criminals "extreme." The primary reasons for cuffing are safety and preventing suspects from resisting or taking flight.
