A professional warrior sailor, just 19 years old, takes the helm of a nuclear-powered aircraft carrier. Like so many young warriors on this warship, she keeps us on course every day.

I got to shake the hands of 531 warrior sailors who just graduated from nuclear power school down in South Carolina. I shared with them that “I’m standing here today because my Reactor Sailors did their job!”

Demo is a trained facility dog. He lives on the ship and interacts with crew. His job is to reduce stress and improve quality of life. He did a great job on the recent combat deployment!

Rare look inside the ship’s store on the best damn ship in the Navy. And sorry, we don’t ship items. One needs to physically be here to purchase! Hang on — 4 x speed.

Behind the scenes look on the bridge of the USS Harry S. Truman in the Red Sea as the team prepares to launch a fighter into the night. It sounds like chaos, but it’s completely professional. 🇺🇸

A brief interaction with Captain Demo up on the bridge of the Mighty Ike… Demo is two years old and he is trained to live on a warship. His mission is to interact with Sailors and reduce stress. He definitely improves my mood, but then again I’m the guy with a snack always ready… thus, he and I both benefit.

We honored some Tailhookers of the year tonight, included a couple of warriors presently serving on the USS Abraham Lincoln. We connected via live feed to honor them. These warfighters are coming home soon after an incredible deployment bringing the fight to the enemy every single day. Again, nothing but humility and grit. This is why I serve… and also because of that mustache.
