Was on Sky News discusssing lockdowns 3 years on... I was asked whether lockdown for a new pandemic would be impossible or whether it would be easy. I said 2020 proved that in a crisis people can do extraordinary things but ideally we'd have learned to be able to avoid it 1/2

On care homes in 1st wave - bigger issue was no hosp discharge testing till mid April & no capacity to test community admissions & staff. we SHOULD have ramped up testing early & worried about spread from staff & visitors. Germany did both & had far fewer care home deaths 1/2
