Love that Taylor Swift is performing tonight but still walked the carpet, hung out during the cocktail hour and mingled with guests like Academy President Lynette Howell Taylor and Sarah Paulson. Superstars don’t always do that and I just think it’s cool honestly.

Crisis averted inside #GoldenGlobes backstage press room as catering knocked over a coffee holder and the sterno underneath was lit. For a brief moment, the carpet was on fire and smoke wafted up around the curtains. They put it out quickly fortunately. Yikes!

Dave Chappelle told a really sweet story about hanging with Eddie Murphy at his house two weeks ago as his grandkids played in the pool. They talked for the first time about Eddie’s late brother, Charlie, and Dave reveals it was Eddie who suggested he do a Chappelle’s Show movie or reboot of some sort. So Dave used the opportunity to pitch Eddie on being part of it. “Eddie, if I do it, man, do the Charlie parts and let's fucking go,” he said. “Thank you for everything. Tonight is not just an achievement of a professional career going incredibly right. Tonight is a lifetime achievement. Those grandkids playing, the fact that you still look young and beautiful, that beautiful family you're sitting with, man, you are still the hero I want to be. Thank you, sir.”

Much different scene here 24 hours later standing in the same spot in Palisades Park on the bluffs with the fires still burning up the coast. I spent the night in a hotel and just got back home to check it out since Santa Monica is good. Gutted for everyone in Malibu + Palisades. There are no words.

Very cool candid #Emmys moment not seen on TV: Left the Governors Ball and ran into a crowd on the curb outside where Noah Wyle and Stephen Graham were meeting and sharing compliments. Stephen said his acting on The Pitt is phenomenal and he and his wife have been fans since the ER days!

Drama at Intuit Dome opening night. We are less than 10 minutes from showtime for Bruno Mars and the app (which is required for entry as it’s a ticketless and cashless venue) is completely down. Huge crowd stuck outside and only one main entrance. Heres what it looks like now…

Bruno Mars stops his Intuit Dome show to call for security for urgent attention to a situation unfolding in the first few rows. Security takes a beat so he is forced to say it again and they rush the section. Not sure what happened but if you watch until the end, you can see multiple guards carrying this man out who looks in distress.

“A few years later, I become a comedian and I'm like, ‘I'm going to be like Eddie. I'm going to go up in front of a Black crowd.’ And I went up and I did my thing and I got offstage and I was like, ‘I am never going to do that again.’ Black people are mean. They don't let you get to the stage. They already heckle. They are going to have a good time with or without you. That is what I learned. But in that education that you gave me — and he informed me as a comedian — that I wanted to make everybody laugh,” said Bill Burr, who reveals he saw “Raw” live stage at 18, as he honored Eddie Murphy at last night’s AFI Life Achievement Awards.

“We met upstairs. Everyone wants to meet you,” Tessa Thompson said to Connor Storrie as she had the task of addressing the room and introducing the night’s performer Lily Allen during Chanel’s Coco Crush campaign launch dinner with Gracie Abrams. Connor blushed while seated next to Derek Blasberg and near Dakota Fanning, Maggie Rogers, St. Vincent, Pink Pantheress and more.
