I went down the Leigh Alexander rabbithole, and it turns out she wrote for Thirsty Suitors. I present to you real dialogue from when I played Thirsty Suitors.

This was the only part of the game which elicited a strong emotion out of me. Like an audible "Oh my god" came out my mouth hole. Amanda was side-lined by the writers and it's legit heart breaking hearing this considering the writers gave us no chance to make her happy.

They just don't make them like they used to...

I do not like the meshing of 10FPS animation with 60fps everything else. I've been coded by literally every game ever to believe it's frame drops, so it makes every input feel laggy when it really isn't. I'm sure it's something I'll get used to but it's just really weird.

I feel like there was a point in time when we started pointing at laughing at this style of writing. When is the "MCU style writing/fake improv" amnesty? What year are we calling it? Between this game and Forspoken.

The biggest crime of whatever the fuck this is, is that the slurping tongues get a framerate that doesn't make it look like a slideshow.

There's probably tons of people who'd happily listen to Fanboy talk about this stuff for half an hour. I love this scene, even if you could say it's aged poorly in a nice way. You just know Fanboy's podcast would be raking in the numbers.

Even on Good playthroughs I join the Temple of Shadows just for the quest where you eat five baby chicks. The performance from the guy playing Tarquin where he's literally gagging and spitting is top tier and makes me giggle.

This game is peak. This scene is peak. Everything about this wouldn't work in most modern games but it hits here. It's fun and I unashamedly like it. It's great.

It's not exactly ground breaking but I'm surprised it isn't so much discussed as an option to at least appease those freaking out over such content any more. Brutal Legend is so far one of the only games I've seen do it in such a natural fashion. They even had it for gore, too.
