Safety Checks Carried Out at Pattaya Entertainment Venues Following Deadly Bangkok Fire Following the deadly fire at an entertainment venue in Soi Lat Phrao 1, Bangkok, which claimed multiple lives and raised nationwide concerns about safety standards at nightlife venues, Chonburi Governor Naris Niramaiwong has ordered all relevant agencies to intensify inspections of entertainment businesses across the province. The focus is on Pattaya, one of Thailand’s busiest tourist destinations, where large numbers of visitors use nightlife venues every day. At 8.30pm on July 13, 2026, Chonburi Deputy Governor Isara Charoenchasri led a multi-agency inspection team in Pattaya. Joining him were Bang Lamung District Chief Anusak Piriyamorn, Pattaya City Police Chief Pol. Col. Anek Sarathongyu, Pattaya Deputy City Clerk Kiatsak Sriwongchai, Tourist Police, district administration officials, and other relevant agencies. The inspections were carried out under the governor’s directive, with officers examining emergency escape routes, exit signage, emergency lighting systems, and fire extinguishers to improve safety for residents and tourists. A total of seven entertainment venues were inspected, including three venues outside designated entertainment zones and four within licensed entertainment zones. The inspections also covered several large venues along Walking Street in South Pattaya, one of the city’s busiest tourist areas. Officials found a number of safety deficiencies at several venues. These included an insufficient number of emergency exit signs, too few fire extinguishers for the size of the premises, and inadequate emergency lighting systems. Business operators were instructed to correct the issues immediately, while Pattaya City officials and the Bang Lamung District Office were ordered to conduct follow-up inspections to ensure compliance. Deputy Governor Isara Charoenchasri said the inspections were ordered in response to the devastating Bangkok fire, which resulted in significant loss of life. He said Chonburi Province is particularly concerned because Pattaya has a high concentration of entertainment venues and attracts large numbers of tourists. He explained that inspections are focusing on building readiness, including emergency escape routes, fire suppression equipment, obstacles blocking evacuation paths, and interior decorative materials which may increase the risk of fire. Operators have been instructed to bring their premises up to safety standards as quickly as possible to reduce risks in the event of an emergency. He stressed that protecting both residents and tourists remains the province’s highest priority and is essential to maintaining confidence in Pattaya’s reputation as a safe international tourism destination. 🎬 Pattaya News Online #ข่าวด่วน #ไฟไหม้ #กรุงเทพมหานคร #ไฟไหม้ผับลาดพร้าว #ไฟไหม้กรุงเทพ #Bangkok #Pattaya
