In my video, I break down how Tshwane’s pools remain closed since October last year. Mismanagement by the ANC government is preventing residents from across the City of Tshwane from accessing pools, which foster a healthy lifestyle and community bonds for all in Tshwane. 🏊‍♂️ Those with means can afford to pay for gyms with pools or have private pools in Estates. Public facilities are for those who can’t afford additional expenses. The DA’s pushing for a policy to get pools open! 💪

I’m at the Public Protector laying a complaint for possible fraud in water tanker invoices that were paid. Only R381 million of the R777 million spent on water tankers was accounted for on 30 June 2025, the end of the financial year. The rest of the invoices were received after the books were closed. We’re taking this fight to the Public Protector because Tshwane residents deserve honesty, transparency and leadership that protects every cent, not politicians who treat public money like their own.

Gauteng’s water crisis won’t be solved overnight, but when taps run dry, especially in the middle of school exams, you need hands-on government.

Johann Mettler blocked their tenders. He refused to let corrupt officials walk free. He stood between Tshwane and those who wanted to loot it. Today in a special council sitting they are trying to fire him for it. One of those tenders would have handed a company called Smada a 50 year lease on the Pretoria Show Grounds. Smada has been linked to the EFF and Julius Malema at the Madlanga Commission. 👀 This is not about misconduct. This is about removing the man standing in the way. ⚖️

We met with leaders of industry to learn how to achieve this and their input is clear - have a clear road map and be serious about implementing it! In preparation for governing the City of Tshwane after the 2026 local Government Election, we are undertaking a listening tour to engage stakeholders of different sectors to inform pledges that we will make to the people of Tshwane.

Councillors voted to treat allegations against CFO Gareth Mnisi as serious misconduct. The Speaker deducted 13 votes and let him off lightly anyway. The same number. 13. On both votes. Coincidence is not a word that applies here. Today the DA took this to the Gauteng High Court on an urgent basis. Democracy was rigged in plain sight. We will not let it stand. ⚖️

The EFF must account for evidence at the Madlanga Commission which suggests that their leader “Juju” was involved in tender rigging in Tshwane. They have been very animated about a report of the Public Protector about a defective advertisement for the position of head of emergency service, despite the Public Protector confirming that the position was eventually filled by someone with the required qualifications. They seem less eager to account for far more serious allegations of wrongdoing against their own leaders.
