Thoughts on the Bears stadium: 1. Illinois deserves a lot of blame. 2. Bears have been trying for over a year to get a deal in Chicago. 2. The Bears aren’t a charity. Indiana’s corporate taxes are half of Illinois, clearer, faster deal. More revenue, more control. #DaBears

Luther Burden looks legit, Jahdae Walker flashed, and Zavion Thomas has real quickness. ▪️Defense is moving pieces around different fronts, disguises, Coby Bryant and Dillon Thieneman rotating all over. ▪️TE room could be a weapon Loveland looks smooth, Roush flashed athleticism, and Kmet is steady as always. Top 3 takeaways from Bears minicamp: 3. This defense is going to be more versatile The Bears caused a lot of confusion today. Different looks. Unblocked pressure. Disguised coverage. Showing pressure and backing out. That’s what makes life hard on QBs when the picture changes after the snap. 2. Zavion Thomas looks like a real WR Not just a returner. Not just a gadget guy. He’s quick, explosive, runs good routes and has natural hands. You can see the burst and confidence growing. Crowded WR room, but this guy can help the Bears this year. 1. Jaylon Johnson looks like the old Jaylon Johnson Two interceptions. Good coverage all day. Matched up with Rome Odunze/Luther. Looked quick, confident and healthy. Stadium thoughts: The frustrating part is this has been years in the making. The Bears bought Arlington Park. They explored the lakefront. They went back to Arlington Heights. Indiana got involved. Everyone saw this coming, and Illinois still waited until the last second. This is like coming out of a timeout and taking a delay of game. You had time. You knew the situation. And somehow you still weren’t ready. Soldier Field is iconic, but it limits revenue. A modern stadium district means better seating, concerts, naming rights, Final Fours, Super Bowls, and year round money. Illinois treated this like a homework assignment they started at 11:58 the night before it was due. (I’m too familiar with this) #DaBears #Bears

3 takeaways from the Bears mini camp: ▪️ The offense is operating much smoother The operation looks far ahead of where it was last year. Caleb Williams looks more comfortable and in command with the motions, shifts, checks, and communication at the line. It’s still June, but this offense looks cleaner and that should open up more of Ben Johnson’s playbook. ▪️ Special teams had a positive week The return game has juice. Kalif Raymond and Zavion Thomas both looked explosive and natural catching punts. Cairo Santos also went 5-for-5, including makes from 55, 58, and 60. That can steal you points and field position during the season. ▪️ No DJ Moore? No problem this week. Zavion Thomas looks like more than a gadget guy. Kalif Raymond still has burst. Luther Burden keeps flashing. And Colston Loveland looks like a real weapon they can move all over the formation. It’s June, but the skill group has real juice. #DaBears #Bears #ChicagoBears
