Small Sided Games: They are back! 😀 This was our series for week 1 of spring development. It’s all about decision making, teamwork, and hunting advantage. Can’t wait to watch this team progress. Soh does such an excellent job with these. #growourgame #growthmindset #playerdevelopment

BRUINS! Head over to Ralphs in Westwood tomorrow and check out the championship trophy. While you're there, take a few pictures with it and grab some cool coupons from Ralphs as well. 🙌 Ralphs Grocery

Small Sides Games & Decisions making, through chaos and changing variables. Every player, regardless of position is expected to grow in these areas. Love the coachability of UCLA Women's Basketball . Falling in love with the PROCESS of what it takes to become great. #DoTheWork #GrowOurGame #TeachMentorEquip

Skill Development: off/weak hand work… 1. Post Move with off hand 2. Pass to the scout guy with off hand 3. Drive with off hand 4. Jumper with dominant hand. - need 7 doubles (2/3 makes) to move on. Scout guys are dummy d, providing appropriate angles & soft contests. #GrowOurGame #DoTheWork

Player Development: This is a series I did with Lena last week. Ball handling, passing, shot preparation, one on one skills. Still cleaning some things up and building better consistency. But couldn’t be more proud of Lena’s growth mindset this spring. 1. High/Low pass around defender 2. Jumper with hand in the face 3. Live 1v1 (should be 4 dribbles or less) #Development #Intentional #EarnYourGrowth

It takes what it takes! This is what I walked into at 7 am on a game day. There were more people than this before I got there. The work is the work. I’m very proud of their understanding of the work & investment required. Special thanks to scout guys, managers, support staff that show up to rebound and pass! #ITWIT #EarnWhatYouWant

Small Sided Games & Development: These might be our players’ favorite part of practice. I love that they are working on dribbling, passing, shooting, decision making, advantage, and teamwork (just to name a few). Great work with these Soh . #growourgame #intentional

Skill Development: 1 on 1 is a part of almost every skill workout in the off season. Lots of ways to emphasize and grow in different ways. Here are two we used last week. Again, great leadership & creativity by Soh #GrowOurGame #Getbetter

Motion Shooting: We have been installing our actions through motion shooting time. We can’t fit it all in before Canada but we are introducing concepts, spacing, screening actions, etc.. And we are practicing gamelike fundamentals. Tony Newnan does an excellent job leading this. #GrowOurGame #GrowthMindset

Motion Shooting: This is a build up from one of our spring workouts. These are not static or random actions. These are actions from our offensive schemes. We want to have a healthy tension between discipline and creativity/reads. We are working on this balance all the time. #DoTheWork #GrowOurGame.

Whichever WNBA team gets Kiki Rice will be getting a difference maker in work ethic, team culture, & performance. Her intentional work never stops. (This is from early morning yesterday) Thanks to managers, ucla scout team, and of course Tasha Brown for showing up no matter the time. Ki, you are spectacular! #WorkInTheDark #programchanger

Small sided games. Soh continues to lead us in these so well. This is about decision making, teamwork, problem solving. It’s takes a little longer to teach this way, but the long term benefits for us have been undeniable. Hope it spurs you on too. #GrowOurGame #GetBetter #lovetheprocess

I was out recruiting yesterday. Coaches kept asking the key to our season so far. It’s this ⬇️… UNCOMMON worth ethic & selflessness! This is totally optional & initiated by the players…pregame activation 8/7 hours before the game. #ITWIT #EarnedConfidence #Give&Grow

Skill Development: A little defense worked into our player development this week. I love the creativity & individual intentionality that James Clark applies to these workouts. Shout out to scout guys and managers too. You don’t want to miss this! Happy holiday weekend. #GrowOurGame #developmentmatters

Hunting and creating advantage… that is what we are trying to teach and empower offensively. It’s making me a better coach, helping them learn to think and be solution finders. I’m still growing in this as a teacher, but I’m living the process. We are doing this out of “Get” actions here. #GrowOurGame #teamwork

Small Sided Games: today we are working out of the double team. Reading where and how the double comes… We got doubled in Canada and didn’t hunt /create advantage out of that as well as we could have. Excited to work through that & get better. #GetBetter #MakeReads #Mistakes=Feedback

Motion Shooting: We are starting to understand personnel, ball movement, & shot selection. Still needs a lot of work but trajectory is going in the right direction. #GrowOurGame #Think&PlayCreatively

Skill Development: Sienna Betts is going to be a major problem for opponents next year. Excited for what she will earn. This is a quick drill from spring workouts. Here are the 3 parts. 1. Get open vs live denial on a cut to high post. 2. Drive to basket off the “get action” (dummy D) 3. Live low post shot. Have to create the catch by getting open with both feet in the war zone. - make 7 doubles on each side. #EarnWhatYouWant #IntentionalGrowth #GrowOurGame
