I have changed my thinking on High School basketball. I still love it and advocate for the investment in it by school communities. 𝗕𝗨𝗧 the Daytona 500, F1 at Monaco, and the Triple Crown aren’t won by Buicks and mules. Most kids won’t play college basketball (like 98%) but the programs that win have the players that will. There is a broken chain right now. The NBA has changed, followed by college… yet traditional high school isn’t evolving to stay connected to the chain. So the talent is leaving for HS situations (public, private, prep) that are connected to basketball’s evolving platforms. What’s always worked worked until it didn’t….

This was before their Atlantic Sun Conference Conference Tournament Championship game at Kennesaw State MBB Are we as coaches willing to spend 10:00 at the start of practice during the early part of the season to do this? Obviously, once the routine is learned, the time is cut in half. I think it’s important for injury prevention (prehab) and loosening the soft tissue / fascia / fluid part of an athletes body. Kids are playing more and more today as compared to 5, 10, 15 years ago. I believe we have to educate ourselves on how best to prepare our players bodies for workouts and practice.
