In todays game, Spike woulda been best pulling/volleying on the ball with his foot rather than going down on it. Once you come up, it’s always an overcarry. Do we still coach to get down on the ball to be met with 2 players & blown for overcarry?

At the start of training & 45 mins before a match, I’ll always start with a RAMP warmup. Some players sit down all day at a desk or drive long distances so starting without the ball is key imo.

Tempo runs are the key to improving our high speed running. Running at 70% & over 5.5ms = high speed running. Tempo runs can be utilised by work to rest ratio of 1:2 focusing on correct form & controlled breathing. Easy to program for all players & teams. #GAA
