Started prototyping a 2.5D Action RPG in Unreal Engine :)

Yes, this is Unreal Engine 5

All characters here are using PaperZD's new skin system. This means they all share the same Animation Source, Animation Blueprint and Character Blueprint. The only thing that is different is the Skin asset, which makes updating things or adding new characters a breeze!

If you slept through High School Math (like I did), the Content Examples Project got you covered. It goes through all of the basic vector math you need on a daily basis when making games.

I finally started remaking my Unreal Engine 2D Top Down tutorial for YouTube! The previous one is now 2 years old and I've been able to find many workflow improvements and tweaks. It's about time!

I've been using this (Pseudo-)Global Variable system in Unreal for a while now and thought I would share it. It enables you to have certain variables in one place through a data asset and you can even tweak them while the game is running. Full Tutorial:

I messed around with the new beta version for PaperZD which now has support for a 'Skin' system that allow reusing the same Animation Source and Animation Blueprint. And also support for layers that make it easy to attach weapons, armor and so on. #Unreal2D
