Today we're excited to introduce Devin, the first AI software engineer. Devin is the new state-of-the-art on the SWE-Bench coding benchmark, has successfully passed practical engineering interviews from leading AI companies, and has even completed real jobs on Upwork. Devin is an autonomous agent that solves engineering tasks through the use of its own shell, code editor, and web browser. When evaluated on the SWE-Bench benchmark, which asks an AI to resolve GitHub issues found in real-world open-source projects, Devin correctly resolves 13.86% of the issues unassisted, far exceeding the previous state-of-the-art model performance of 1.96% unassisted and 4.80% assisted. Check out what Devin can do in the thread below.

Cognition has signed a definitive agreement to acquire Windsurf. The acquisition includes Windsurf’s IP, product, trademark and brand, and strong business. Above all, it includes Windsurf’s world-class people, whom we’re privileged to welcome to our team. We are also honoring their talent and hard work in building Windsurf into the great business it is today. This transaction is structured so that 100% of Windsurf employees will participate financially. They will also have all vesting cliffs waived and will receive fully accelerated vesting for their work to date. At Cognition we have focused on developing robust and secure autonomous agents, while Windsurf has pioneered the agentic IDE. Devin + Windsurf are a powerful combination for the developers we serve. Working side by side, we’ll soon enable you to plan tasks in an IDE powered by Devin’s codebase understanding, delegate chunks of work to multiple Devins in parallel, complete the highest-leverage parts yourself with the help of autocomplete, and stitch it all back together in the same IDE. Cognition and Windsurf are united behind a shared vision for the future of software engineering, and there’s never been a better time to build. Welcome to our new colleagues from Windsurf!

GE built America's first jet engine in 1942. Today GE Aerospace's engine technology powers 3 of 4 commercial flights in the world. Now they’re using Devin to build more, faster. One team nearly doubled its engineering output. Their software optimizes routes, reduces fuel consumption, and monitors anomalies. Their software team's goal is to fly more without adding another airplane, runway, or pilot.

In Prague, Czechia, you can order a week's worth of farm-fresh groceries and have it at your door in an exact 15-minute window. Milk in glass bottles from a local family farm. Fish caught yesterday. Strawberries picked that morning. This is all fueled by Rohlik Group, a powerhouse from Czechia. It’s profitable, it did >$1.3B of revenue last year, and it's accelerating European grocery delivery with Devin.
