This is Dolly she was born yesterday. She got her name because of her coat of many colors.

This calf is going to make a good herd bull. Jan born. Getting weaned next week.

Definitely a blessed day. Saw her in labor went and feed another group. Went and checked her saw yellow fluid coming out so I brought her in. Went in and only had the tail in the birth canal. Pulled 4 of these in my life and this is the second one we’ve ever saved.

On a day full of hard to explain. She was never out with a ram. Then I remembered some ram lambs knocked the gate open one night and here we are.

Number 3 for the day.

This is her this afternoon

If you have 5 minutes you can witness a miracle. She ended up with twins.

Even docile bulls will test you. Never underestimate a bull.

To all the people looking at getting into the cattle business. Make sure you know what you’re getting into. It’s Sunday afternoon putting a new calf in the barn out of the rain. 44 degrees pouring rain and that’s not mud I’m walking in.

Thought we had a big issue. The calf on my left when I first checked it looked down and cold. After moving cows around in the barn to bring it in I came back to find this. Now I just need to get blood pressure back down.

I had some help unrolling hay this afternoon.

How you handle cattle before you get them in the pens directly influence how they’re going to act in the pens.

Y’all like to guess wts. What does the cow weigh and what does the calf weigh? Sorry no prizes.

Importing things is so great. Look at this little devil that’s eating up our environment like trees and grapes. This is a juvenile Spot lantern fly. Yet another result of bringing in goods that’s going to have a direct negative impact on our ecosystem.

You got to love the games calves play. Guess whether I’m alive or dead. Good for the old ticker. 😡

The one we’ve been waiting for. Born mid day yesterday.

Doing pretty good for being born early this morning. He’s the first of three born today.

Saw my first asteroid or comet this morning.

After being up for close to 3 weeks for some of them it’s melted enough to turn out. Calves don’t care where they run they just want to run.

Tonight’s barnyard ballet brought to you by the lambs a leaping dance company.
