During an emotional press conference, Aiken County Sheriff Marty Sawyer shared details of what he called the most horrific thing he has seen in his 37-year career. Javeayah Harris is believed to have been deceased for a month before her parents reported her missing. Michilae Herring, 22, and Johnmarea Harris, 23, are facing charges of homicide by child abuse, and destruction, and desecration of human remains. They are accused of taking her life before using "corrosive chemicals" to "accelerate the destruction of her little body." Absolutely horrific. This is why the death penalty exists.

A Chinese restaurant in the Bay Area is fining parents for their out-of-control kids. The owner of Chez Xue says he has had enough of poorly behaved children in his restaurant, so he is now fining parents. You You Xue says one customer changed a dirty diaper next to another customer who was dining. "We are not a playground. Please ensure children REMAIN SEATED at all times and respectful of fellow guests and the dining environment," the restaurant's policy says. "Running around, shouting, making noise with utensils, etc. WILL NOT BE TOLERATED!" One parent was charged $327 after their child smashed a credit card machine. Another parent was charged $109 after their kid carved designs into a table with a utensil. One more parent was charged $5 after a child smashed a teacup. "I honestly put this notice on my menu because I didn't want to put my employees in the position of parenting other people's children. It should not be their job," the owner said. NEW: Criminal case against California doctor who drove his family off a 300-foot cliff has been dismissed. 45-year-old Dharmesh Patel was accused of intentionally driving his Tesla off Devil’s Slide in January 2023. He was initially hit with three attempted murder charges; however, the case has now been dismissed because Patel is "doing well" in his mental health program, according to his doctors. Authorities in California were forced to shut down businesses from Newport Pier to Pacific Coast Highway due to non-residents wreaking havoc on July 4th. Hundreds of people reportedly swarmed police officers and threw debris at them before fighting each other. Newport Beach stores were also looted, according to local reports, including a Pavilions grocery store. Video footage shows a massive amount of trash and debris left outside the store. NEW: Three inmates sentenced to life in prison for murdering a child killer in prison by stabbing him 25 times. Kyle Bevan was stabbed to death by Mark Fellows, 45, David Taylor, 64, and Lee Newell, 57. Bevan, 33, was in the UK prison, serving a life sentence for murdering his partner's two-year-old daughter in 2020. The trio entered Bevan's cell, where they cornered him and attacked him for about five minutes. After the murder, the men put him in bed to make it look like he was sleeping. Bevan wasn't discovered until the next day. Taylor was given a life sentence for Bevan's murder. Fellows and Newell were already in prison with life sentences but were given "new and separate" life sentences for the murder. "You chose him as your target as he had been convicted of the murder of a child... There were congratulations when you returned to your own landing. Word had spread," judge Mrs Justice McGowan said. "Fellows tried to dispose of his bloodstained trousers. All three had blood on your shoes. All of you had killed before."

Brown says he was thrifting when someone, after deciding they didn't want the jacket, threw it in front of him. "He just threw it in front of me, and I immediately grabbed it," Brown said. The man says he posted a photo of the jacket on Instagram, which caught the attention of Sotheby’s auction house. "They said your jacket has been matched to the 1972 NBA Finals. I knew the NBA Finals jersey sold for $4.9 million. That’s the jersey he wore under my jacket," Brown said. The jacket has since been authenticated. Sotheby’s says it is worth between $150,000 and $250,000.

Louisiana pastor beats up a man who allegedly threatened to r*pe and kill his wife and grandchildren. Pastor Tony Spell of Life Tabernacle Church says he was working on a church bus when the neighbor's son started shouting at him. Spell said that it is his job as the natural protector to protect his church and family. "He said, 'Tony, I'm gonna r*pe your wife, I'm gonna r*pe all of your grandchildren,' and he said, 'The next time you go out of town, I'm gonna kill them, and what the F are you going to do about it?" Spell said. The neighbors, the Sherwin family, claim Spell is not telling the truth, but during a press conference, Spell was backed by members of his church who say they've made multiple complaints about the Sherwin family to police. Spell's attorney says the Sherwin family has "a large, industrial-scale camera that could see from across the street all the way into the pulpit." Spell was hit with multiple misdemeanor summonses in 2020 during the COVID lockdowns when he refused to close his church. "The Central City police are friends with these folks across the street. When Pastor Spell was being surveilled 24/7, it was with the help of the man across the street," Spell's lawyer said. The pastor was reportedly arrested and booked for second-degree battery.
