#CopernicusAtmosphere dust aerosol optical depth forecast shows a massive #SaharanDust plume crossing NW Africa, W Mediterranean + parts of Europe through the first week of March. Read the article ⬇️

A large Saharan dust plume has stretched across the Atlantic from the west coast of Africa towards the Americas. CAMS data shows that large parts of the Caribbean are most impacted.

Long-range transport of smoke from late‑June wildfires in North America &amp;Eurasia shows 2026 boreal fire season is now picking up after a relatively calm start of the year. #CopernicusAtmosphere is tracking emissions from these fires &amp; others currently burning in southern Europe.

🌍🌡️2023 is confirmed as the warmest calendar year on record, with a global average temperature of 14.98°C, 0.60°C above the 1991-2020 level, overtaking 2016, the previous warmest year. Learn more in the #C3S Global Climate Highlights report 👉
