The City of Philadelphia has less than three months until our contract with the trash incinerator in Chester expires. Burning trash produces toxic air and ash that make our planet and our communities sick. That's why we banned trash incinerators in Philly in the 1980s. If something isn't safe for Philly, it isn't safe for Chester. During yesterday's budget hearing with the Sanitation Department, the Parker Administration made it clear that they still oppose efforts to end our dirty deal with trash incinerators. This is disappointing, especially since Mayor Parker ran for office on the promise to make us Clean, Green, and Safe. It isn't too late for Mayor Parker to do the right thing and stop trashing our air! I will keep fighting until everyone in Philly and Chester has the clean air and healthy environment they deserve! ✊🏾

I am disappointed that Drexel University is targeting food trucks. If you went to Drexel, you know that these food trucks have the most delicious and affordable food on campus. I urge Drexel to reverse course. If not, I will explore legislative options to protect these small businesses.

Ahead of City Council’s budget hearing with SEPTA, we rode the L (Market-Frankford Line) from 52nd Street to City Hall to speak with riders and sound the alarm about proposed doomsday service cuts and fare hikes. Our region generates almost 40% of Pennsylvania’s economy activity on 5% of land. This is only possible because of SEPTA. Harrisburg Republicans need to come to the table and make a deal to keep our economy moving forward.
