The first forfeited Test. #OnThisDay, Pakistan refused to return after tea on the fourth day of the 2006 Oval Test after Darrell Hair penalised them five runs and changed the ball for alleged tampering. The umpires eventually awarded the match to England. An ICC hearing cleared Pakistan of ball-tampering but banned Inzamam-ul-Haq for four ODIs. Nearly two years later, the ICC changed the result to a draw, only to reverse the decision the following year and restore England’s win.
