Canada is at the centre of a sweeping U.S.-led crackdown on alleged Indian organized crime networks, with American prosecutors linking the groups to the 2023 killing of Canadian Sikh leader Hardeep Singh Nijjar in Surrey. The U.S. Department of Justice announced that 37 people have been charged and 24 arrested as part of "Operation Hard Ball," a multinational investigation involving authorities in the United States, Canada and Europe. Three suspects were arrested in Canada. One indictment alleges jailed Indian gangster Lawrence Bishnoi and alleged associate Satinderjeet Singh ordered Nijjar's assassination as part of a campaign of violence and extortion targeting members of the Indian diaspora. Prosecutors also allege the organization trafficked cocaine from the United States into Canada. A separate indictment charges three British Columbia men, Vancouver residents Ravinder Singh Dhanda and Jaskarn Baghri, along with Creston resident Gurtej Singh Smagh,with allegedly operating a cross-border drug smuggling network that transported hundreds of kilograms of cocaine and methamphetamine into Canada.

Toronto Police Chief Myron Demkiw says a search warrant that led to the death of Const. Marc Pinizzotto was connected to an investigation into multiple shootings, including the March 2026 attack on the U.S. Consulate in Toronto. Last month, the FBI arrested Mohammad Baqer Saad Dawood Al-Saadi, who U.S. authorities have identified as a senior member of Kata'ib Hizballah and an operative of Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC). According to U.S. court documents, Al-Saadi claimed responsibility for multiple attacks in Canada, including the shooting at the U.S. Consulate in Toronto. Toronto police are also searching for a second suspect, identified as 19-year-old Zara Jabbi.

The women arrived, knocked and waited around before checking if the front door of the home was unlocked. Durham Region has seen a increase in residential break in's recently.

More footage of the Oshawa Centre jewelry store robbery today, the suspects used pepper spray while trying to escape. Several citizens grabbed two of the suspects until police arrived, the other two suspects were caught nearby after a brief foot pursuit.

Ontario Provincial Police arrest two Brampton men in possession of 72 smuggled handguns. Two Brampton residents are facing multiple Criminal Code charges related to weapons trafficking following an eight-month investigation by police. In February 2025, the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP)-led Border Drug Interdiction Task Force (BDIT) launched an intelligence-based investigation into suspected cocaine trafficking. On Thursday, September 11, 2025, investigators identified a northbound tractor-trailer linked to the probe, which originated in Toronto. The vehicle was intercepted at a Ministry of Transportation inspection station near Temiskaming Shores. With assistance from several specialized OPP units — including the Organized Crime Enforcement Bureau, the Provincial Guns and Gangs Enforcement Team, North East Region Community Street Crime Units, the Canine Unit, and Temiskaming OPP — officers executed a search warrant on the truck. The search led to the seizure of 72 illegal handguns and 66 prohibited devices. Preliminary tracing by the Firearms Analysis and Tracing Enforcement (FATE) Program, managed by the Criminal Intelligence Service Ontario, revealed that all the firearms originated in the United States. Balraj SINGH, 31, of Brampton, has been charged with: -72 counts of weapons trafficking. -Possession for the purpose of trafficking – cocaine. Kawalbir SINGH, 21, of Brampton, has been charged with: -72 counts of weapons trafficking. Both have remain in custody and are set to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Toronto on Wednesday, October 22, 2025

Warning Disturbing Footage Richmond Hill man chased down and executed in broad daylight. York Regional Police say a man in his 40s was killed in a targeted shooting Thursday night on Parker Avenue near King Road. Officers found him with gunshot wounds just before 7 p.m., and he was pronounced dead at the scene. Shortly after, police were alerted to a vehicle fire near King Road and Dufferin Street, possibly linked to the incident. Two suspects are being sought, though no descriptions have been released. Police say the attack was isolated, and there is no ongoing threat to public safety. A command post was set up at Oak Ridges Public School. Authorities are asking anyone with information or footage to contact them.

Surveillance footage from the home of a Toronto South Detention Centre correctional officer shows an alleged attempt by an organized crime group to kill him, reportedly with assistance from a Toronto Police constable. York Regional Police intervened after the suspects returned to the residence multiple times. It's alleged that Brian Da Costa, an organized crime figure in the Greater Toronto Area, ordered the hit on the correctional officer using information supplied by Toronto Police Constable Timothy Barnhardt, 56, of Mississauga. That information was allegedly passed on members who were tasked with carrying out the hit on the corrections officer. Almar Heath, 28 of Toronto and two youths were arrested at the scene and charged with conspiracy to commit murder. Additionally Kaejean Doman, 23 of Innisfil, Median Jackson, 32 of Mississauga and Devonte Barker-Campbell, 31 of Toronto are facing conspiracy to commit murder charges based off information passed to them by Toronto Police Constable Timothy Barnhardt

Stephen J. Tanner, Chief of the Halton Regional Police Service, spoke at a press conference announcing “Project Cyprus,” a major drug trafficking investigation that led to the largest firearms seizure in the history of the service. Says that all 24 handguns recovered in the operation originated in the USA, he goes on to say "The vast majority of crime guns in Halton region and surrounding areas originate from the US, in fact recent police data shows that in most jurisdictions around 90% of handguns recovered in violent crimes are traced back to the US"
