Premiering exclusively on Criterion Channel on August 5: Jia Zhangke's CAUGHT BY THE TIDES (2024), a kaleidoscopic odyssey across time and space. The latest feature from the visionary director is an entirely original, captivating epic that draws on a 23-year collaboration between Jia and actors Zhao Tao and Li Zhubin, casting them as a pair of estranged lovers, tracking these characters across an increasingly alien China as they age in real time, from the dawn of the millennium to the COVID-19 era.
