Again, I don’t have a date for this footage, but it was posted on Facebook yesterday. The location is the A13 eastbound, heading towards the Tilbury slip road. Whilst your eye is naturally drawn to the biker, there are two shots of the speedometer of the car from which the footage was filmed. One shows 130mph, the second 137mph. So you can make a pretty reasonable guesstimate of the minimum speeds the bike is travelling at. Although this isn’t Metropolitan Police ground, it is not far from it. It beggars belief that, because of cuts, the number of traffic officers in London who are trained and equipped to deal with pursuits is being reduced, with officers moved into other duties. One of the solutions apparently put forward to justify reducing traffic policing is the increased use of automatic cameras. Sorry, but that is total BS. As this clip — and the one I posted yesterday — demonstrates, many of these bellends don’t have visible number plates in the first place. They are either hidden using folding mechanisms or simply aren’t attached to the bike. You can’t enforce against a number plate that isn’t there. Cameras have their place, but they are not a replacement for properly resourced traffic officers who can actually stop, pursue and deal with this sort of behaviour. And to be clear, this isn’t a pop at Metropolitan Police or the officers themselves. They can only work with the resources and numbers they are given. The criticism is aimed at those who decide the budgets and ultimately make the political decisions about policing priorities. There are obviously many factors behind the rise in anti-social behaviour and the increasingly brazen behaviour we are seeing on our roads and public places. But I would suggest that one serious contributing factor is the reduction in the number of police officers per head of population. When you reduce the number of officers available to deal with this behaviour, whilst simultaneously expecting technology to fill the gap, is it really any surprise that some people become increasingly confident that they can get away with it? And whilst the sane and law-abiding majority look at this sort of behaviour with disbelief, there is also a significant number of people who follow, celebrate and produce social-media content around this stupidity. They treat it as entertainment. They glorify behaviour that can ultimately cost lives or result in life-changing injuries — not just to themselves, but to completely innocent people who happen to be in the wrong place at the wrong time. That, in itself, is another part of the problem. When dangerous and criminal behaviour is rewarded with views, likes and followers, there will always be people willing to push the boundaries even further. 🎥Tee Onsight. This has appeared on a number of feeds this weekend. Although I cannot independently verify the exact date, it is believed to have been filmed last Friday, with other footage apparently showing the Ace Cafe closed and its car park empty. What is particularly frustrating is that, because of the behaviour of these bellends, the Ace Cafe has been forced to close early on Friday nights — losing trade on what would ordinarily be one of its busiest nights of the week. The consequences also fall on genuine bikers and local people who used to attend regularly and enjoy the atmosphere. The Ace Cafe itself has confirmed repeated Friday-night closure arrangements, with notices dating back several weeks. (ACE Cafe) The final clip in this video also appears to have been online for around two weeks. Other footage circulating shows members of the public in their cars being also being harassed. Many of those involved either have no number plates displayed or have deliberately obscured or covered them. And this is the important point: whilst the Ace Cafe may have been the original draw, this behaviour is no longer dependent on whether the cafe is open or closed. It has now been going on for weeks. The people causing this aren’t just ruining it for the Ace Cafe — they’re ruining it for genuine bikers, local residents, motorists and anyone else who has to put up with this behaviour. The Ace Cafe has a long and important place in London’s motorcycling history. It shouldn’t be held hostage by a minority who seem determined to turn the area into their own playground. From what is being seen in these clips, there also appears to be a belief among some of those involved that they are immune from any consequences. Following the events elsewhere over the weekend, the obvious question is: when is this pissing around with these idiots actually going to be addressed? And before the usual people simply blame the police, there is a legitimate operational issues here. Unlike dealing with cars, these individuals are often riding motorcycles and quads, frequently without visible number plates, and pursuing them presents obvious and potentially serious dangers to other road users and pedestrians. Witnesses at the scene described hearing a disturbance near the restaurant before the victim was pursued across the plaza and into the entrance of the public library. It is not yet clear where he sustained his injuries, but he subsequently entered the Civic Centre through an internal entrance between the library and the centre, where emergency services fought in vain to save his life. Given the location, so close to Wembley Stadium, the unfolding horror was witnessed by a number of members of the public, including small children and family groups who were in the area at the time. Forensics were seen inside the restaurant recovering a chair. The chair appeared to have come from the outside seating area, and at this stage the incident is not believed to have involved the restaurant itself. Two men have been convicted over the murder of a delivery driver in Camden following an investigation by the Met Police. Ahmed Ali Jama, 29, (Pic1) was stabbed four times on the Abbey Estate, Abbey Road in December 2023 by a man in dark motorcycle clothing and a balaclava. Once again, what should have been a peaceful evening, with members of the public gathering to watch the sunset from the summit of Primrose Hill, has instead resulted in another significant police response. On arrival, officers were met with violence, with bottles thrown directly at them as they responded to reports of fighting. One teenage girl was also taken to hospital after reportedly taking what is believed to be illegal drugs. For many, watching the sunset from Primrose Hill is an opportunity to enjoy one of London’s most iconic views. Instead, the reckless actions of a minority continue to turn these gatherings into disorder. Emergency services attended reports of a large disturbance yesterday evening, in Kilburn. Along with Metropolitan Police and London Ambulance Service, London's Air Ambulance Charity sent both a helicopter and land based teams, but unfortunately despite their efforts a male victim of a stabbing died at the scene. Once again crimes like these have knock on effects to the community, not only because of vehicles trapped in the cordons but on this occasion two totally uninvolved residents had their cars seized by police for further forensic opportunities to be explored and developed. This is London’s 38th reported murder investigation this year. The 5th investigation launched in May and 2nd in two days. This is also the third murder this month which involved an earlier gathering on or near an estate. Emergency services responded to reports of a shooting in the early hours of 18 August in East Ham. Despite the efforts of emergency services, a man in his 40s sadly died at the scene. This is the 62nd publicly reported murder investigation launched in London this year, the fifth reported in August and the second to involve a firearm. Emergency services responded to a report of stabbing on Westow Hill in the early hours of this morning. A man was taken to hospital and later arrested. Shortly afterward a man was located on Woodland Road with Stab wounds, but despite the efforts of the emergency services he died at the location. This is the 49th Publicly Reported London Murder Investigation this year and the 7th in June. Police (Metropolitan Police) have launched London’s 51st publicly reported murder investigation of the year and the first for July, following the death of a man in his 20s. The victim self-presented at hospital yesterday suffering from stab injuries but later died. Two crime scenes were established as part of the investigation: one in Thornton Heath and a second in Selhurst. Police responded to reports of a fight with knives in New Addington last night. Police have not confirmed the claim heard on the video that it was as a result of attempted bike theft. This was sent to me so unable to credit the creator. Nor aware of date. But on TVP ground. But it is situations like this, which need addressing. Police have to respect the public have the right to film in a public place. But the public need to respect that police have the right to secure a scene, when required. A murder investigation has been launched after a man in his 20s died following a stabbing on North Road, Southall, shortly after midnight on Wednesday. Seven men were arrested on suspicion of murder. Six remain in custody, while a seventh remains in hospital with injuries that are not believed to be life-threatening.
