Tesla has launched a NEW Cybertruck tailgate accessory. This is a tailgate utility track, allowing you to attach items, ropes, or the included load stoppers to the top of the tailgate. The track is made of aluminum, is compatible with all Cybertruck trims, and costs $350 in the Tesla Shop. Buy it here:

Rear axle steering is one of my favorite features on Cybertruck but I never get to see it in action. Here is Mrs. Cybertruck Guy pulling out of our driveway. It's tight, usually a 2-point turn. Rear Axle steering is a work of art. Hang it in the Louvre.

More info on the Cybertruck stuck on a snowy hill: lockers did work, recovery points missing, and wrong tires. CT wasn’t their only recovery that day 😅

Have you ever noticed this little moving part on Cybertruck’s sun visors? And I’m not talking about the magnetic plunger. The engineering on this truck is wild!

Well, this one is confusing. Tonight while getting out of my truck, my shoe caught the edge of the seat trim, ripping it from its fastener. Now I can’t snap it back into place. 🫡 I haven’t investigated a fix yet, but am open to suggestions 😏

FSD Mad Max is ripping it up on these mountain roads. It’s even letting branches hit the sides, intelligently!

FSD V14 has one major new regression— swerving at high speeds for fake road obstacles. In this case, it was a bridge. On camera, this looks minor. But, at 80mph, you can see my immediate reaction & attention snapping back to catch the wheel. It was alarming.

Just paid off my Cybertruck, less than two years after taking original delivery. 🥳 In 2024, purchasing a $100k vehicle made me pucker. Our payment was well over a thousand bucks. For the last 2-3 years, I've been aggressively building my digital marketing & videography business, and 6 months ago I quit my job and dove in full-time. While both purchasing a $100k truck and quitting my job were both insane risks at the time, we've been unquestionably blessed with sustained business and endless work. Late nights and working weekends to create content, build websites, photograph events, write articles, film weddings, you name it. I now own my Cybertruck exclusively, free and clear. Blessed.

Has nobody at Tesla Charging noticed that the entirety of I-90 in South Dakota is still 120kW and 150kW Superchargers? Unusual.

I've uncovered a bit more about FSD V14's behavior in the snow. FSD has an invisible & binary "Snow Mode" where it shifts in and out of a different profile upon detection of snow-covered roads. Snow Mode is either ON or OFF. It does not appear to be a gradient based on condition severity. Example: In the video below, you can see tiny bits of snow drifting across the highway surface. Before this snow appeared, FSD drove normally (at the speed limit or above). When it saw this snow, it instantly slowed to 10-15mph under the speed limit. Then, when the snow cleared, it sped back up. It did this multiple times over a 10 mile drive: >Drive Normally >Detect Snow >Enter Snow Mode >Slow Down >Snow is gone >Exit Snow Mode >Drive Normally In this particular instance driving between various conditions, Snow Mode was unnecessary for this type of snow drifting. Pressing the accelerator or increasing the speed profile does NOT override Snow Mode. Elon said last year they may need to create different versions of FSD for different regions, driving types, and weather (Deep snow vs. Manhattan, etc). This may be our first look at that separated version of FSD that is activated under a certain condition!

Curious your thoughts on this one. FSD did not react at all to vehicles squealing their tires and swerving out of the way. This is a pinch point in the highway where two lanes merge. I mashed the brakes to avoid being involved in the mess, which allowed another driver to use my spot to avoid a potential rear ending. I saw folks slamming the brakes far earlier than I pressed the brakes and waited for FSD to react. It did not.

FSD 14.2 STUNS IN WINTER DRIVING! Just got done driving ~100 miles on a snowy interstate and a little suburban driving. A few notes: FSD absolutely, definitively detects snow as a separate substance from rain. As the snow began to fall, there came a point where FSD first detected the snow and immediately slowed. From then on, it drove in a *completely different profile*. Generally, V14.2 kept 40-55mph on a 70mph interstate. When driving in Sloth/Chill and you try to increase the speed profile to Standard/Hurry, the truck displays a red error saying inclement weather is preventing FSD from speeding up. Fantastic! V14.2 takes corners slow as molasses to keep traction. It does NOT shoot gaps and pull out in front of other vehicles. V14.2 waits for BIG gaps to make its merge into traffic. It is properly cautious! One instance of Red Hands occurred when it was merging into a center left turn lane. This center lane was the only lane not plowed, so either 1. it got confused with lane markings or 2. Slid sideways very slightly and got upset. On straightaways on the interstate in areas with little snow coverage, V14.2 would speed up close to the speed limit. While the roads were wet today from road treatment, I was concerned for slick & frozen areas and manually backed off on the speed. While not technically unsafe, I did this out of an abundance of caution. IMO this is a grey area between "driving safely" and "not driving how I do" lol Not much ice today. Just snow and slush. ***Tonight, 6-12 inches of fresh snow is forecasted to fall here. I'll be out at dawn tomorrow to test in worse conditions with less traffic.*** Stay tuned.
