Girls are merely objects to be controlled, subjugated, sexualized and objectified. This gender apartheid is built on our bodies being colonized and owned by the men in our lives from the moment we are born. On August 2, 2007, Majid Kavousifar and his nephew Hossein Kavousifar were executed by the Islamic Regime in Iran. Right before he was hanged, Majid said “I reached the point at which I decided to eradicate any injustice.” Majid kept smiling and waving at the people who had gathered to witness his government sanctioned murder and became the eternal symbol of courage and conviction in the face of pure evil.

SAVAK was the secret police of the Pahlavis. They tortured and murdered thousands of the Shah's opponents, political prisoners, dissidents. Their flag, which people in this video are wearing and carrying, is a reminder of fear and oppression. Their torture methods included "electric shock, whipping, beating, inserting broken glass and pouring boiling water into the rectum, tying weights to the testicles, and the extraction of teeth and nails" according to the Federation of American Scientists. I shouldn’t explain all this, I shouldn’t say torture and murder are bad whether done by SAVAK or the IRGC or the Nazis, for people to grasp how fascistic they are and how problematic this whole thing is. Iranians deserve better. We deserve not to have to choose between this organization that tortured this many or that organization that tortured that many.
