On June 18, 1983, Mona Mahmudnizhad was executed by the Islamic Regime in Iran for being Baha’i and teaching children of her faith. Mona was 17 years old. She endured torture and interrogation before being hanged alongside 9 other Baha’i women in Shiraz. Her crime was refusing to deny who she was. The other 9 women who were hanged with Mona were: Nusrat Yalda'i, 54 years old Izzat Janami Ishraqi, 50 years old Roya Ishraqi, 23 and daughter of Izzat Tahereh Arjomandi Siyavashi, 30 years old Zarrin Muqimi, 28 years old Shirin Dalvand, 25 years old Akhtar Sabet, 25 years old Simin Saberi, 24 years old Mahshid Nirumand, 28 years old

SAVAK was the secret police of the Pahlavis. They tortured and murdered thousands of the Shah's opponents, political prisoners, dissidents. Their flag, which people in this video are wearing and carrying, is a reminder of fear and oppression. Their torture methods included "electric shock, whipping, beating, inserting broken glass and pouring boiling water into the rectum, tying weights to the testicles, and the extraction of teeth and nails" according to the Federation of American Scientists. I shouldn’t explain all this, I shouldn’t say torture and murder are bad whether done by SAVAK or the IRGC or the Nazis, for people to grasp how fascistic they are and how problematic this whole thing is.
