Semhal Meles is the last person who should be speaking about corruption in Tigray. In my view, it is hypocritical for her to accuse others of corruption when her mother is called the mother of corruption in Ethiopia. That makes her criticism difficult for many to take seriously. To say the least, it is simply laughable.

For Immediate Release June 29, 2024 Eritrean Community Files Federal Lawsuit Against Vandals The Eritrean Association in Greater Seattle has filed a federal lawsuit in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Washington in Tacoma against several individuals who allegedly caused significant damage at an Eritrean festival held in Seattle last year. The lawsuit initially targets 13 individuals, with plans to name over 150 more at a later date. The civil complaint filed this week alleges that the vandals assaulted security guards, destroyed fences, and entered the festival area without authorization. The allegations also include vandalizing vendor tents, damaging products such as rare Eritrean coffee pots (jebenas), attempting to tamper with specially prepared festival food, looting vendor products, and destroying community center property. Additional allegations describe the following destructive acts by the defendants, none of whom are residents of Washington State: - Attempting to tamper with fire alarm systems and food stations, including attempts to trigger false alarms. - Assaulting festival attendees as they exited the premises. - Assaulting women, children, and the elderly. - Attacking families as they attempted to enter the festival area. - Using weapons to attack victims. - Targeting only vulnerable people in groups. In addition to holding the vandals accountable, the community center is working hard to help assault victims heal and provide them with the necessary support to respond to the vandalism properly. Check the clip attached below.

Iโm sorry, Ethiopians, your land has become a playground for TikTokers. Paid Abiy propaganda will say, โYouโre just jealous,โ blah blah, but the reality on the ground is hopeless. No amount of image making can hide that Ethiopia is not in good hands. If your nation should ever raise its hands to God, now is the time.

Some penny collectors "white saviors" went to Eritrea and brought some breaking news (for them) of no electricity, no Internet, no ATM, no G3 etc but never dared to mention why the shortage? Because they created the shortages and came to blame the government. Let me tell you why the shortages- - Eritrea was under no war no peace for at least 18 years (the proxy war of EU & US by TPLF) - unjusted & Illegal sanctions from 2009-2018 - unilateral & illegal sanctions by US and some EU countries forced by US -Blocked from using SWIFT - still blocked to buy any heavy machinery from western countries - systematically denied Airlines to fly to Eritrea -Eritrea under "regime change" agenda of US for the last 20+ years for not bowing down to imperialism and more -completely blocked from taking loans from IMF & world bank and more. The end of Italian colonialism was followed by the plunder and destruction of the 10 yr British Administration. The 30 year armed struggle further devastated Eritreaโs economic infrastructure But Eritrea has something that our well lit friends have not been able to get: -Unity in our diversity -Unparalleled social capital -Internal peace, stability and security -Strong clean government -Resilience of our people- coping capacity So on balance, we are faring much better than those digitally connected, ATMs, electricities etc. not saying these are not importantโฆ

Thank you, Mail Online, for shedding light on a crime that has persisted for years and has been ignored by many officials across the EU. This scheme, designed to hurt Eritrea politically, is finally being exposed. Numerous voices have spoken out about these practices, but breaking the chain has proven nearly impossible due to the complexity of this operationโa well-organized network working from the top down to exploit asylum systems by falsely claiming to be "Eritreans." This crime originates from Tigray refugee camps in Ethiopia, as even the Ethiopian Prime Minister has openly admitted that these camps are the sources of refugee crimes, where individuals falsely claim to be Eritreans. This deliberate effort not only undermines the integrity of asylum systems but also tarnishes Eritrea's reputation on the international stage. I hope the UKโs action will set a precedent and prompt other European countries to address these serious crimes with urgency. This loophole must be closed, and accountability enforced once and for all. Justice must prevail to ensure such exploitation ends permanently.

Itโs unfortunate to say, but Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed is steering Ethiopia toward internal disintegration, driven not by external interference but by his own insecurities and inferiority complex, which seem to be consuming him. Each time he takes the microphone, his speeches deepen divides, stoking tension and instability. His recent words and actions are increasingly reckless, setting Ethiopia on a dangerous path that could lead to political and social ruin. Ethiopia deserves leadership that prioritizes unity and stability, yet these actions are pushing the nation closer to the edge. In a past parliamentary speech, Abiy even boasted about Ethiopia's population size, implying a threat to neighboring states by suggesting he could send five million Ethiopians across their borders if faced with hunger. What does this imply? Is he willing to use his own citizens as a tool to intimidate neighbors when his demands arenโt met? Such statements are not only irrational but also self-destructive, risking Ethiopia's stability and relationships with neighboring countries. Abiyโs approach seems less about responsible governance and more about recklessly wielding power, at the expense of his own countryโs future.

Concern Regarding Upcoming Event and Potential Reputational Risk Dear President Peter Kilpatrick ( Catholic University President) I hope this message finds you well. I am writing to respectfully raise a concern regarding an upcoming event scheduled on your campus this weekend. It has come to my attention that one of the listed speakers, Ms. Selam Kidane, has been allegedly involved in controversial incidents, including the forced entry and damage of an Embassy in the United Kingdom. Additionally, she has been publicly linked to #BrigadeNihamedu, a group that has been designated as a terrorist organization in Germany and is reportedly under investigation in Sweden. While I understand that academic spaces value open dialogue and diverse perspectives, I felt it important to share this information out of concern for the potential reputational risks associated with hosting individuals who are allegedly connected to such serious matters. I have attached publicly available information for your review and verification. I trust that your institution will make the most appropriate decision based on your values and standards. My only intention is to ensure that your university is not inadvertently associated with groups or individuals involved in activities under investigation or classified as extremist. Thank you very much for your attention to this matter, and I appreciate your commitment to maintaining a safe and responsible academic environment. Eritrean Christians were brutally attacked by violent groups during a church service in Tel Aviv, resulting in the tragic deaths of two innocent churchgoers and leaving more than eight others wounded. The attackers, reportedly motivated by deep political divisions, deliberately targeted the worshippers, turning a sacred place into a scene of bloodshed. This was not just an isolated incident but an intentional and premeditated attack. This violence must be stopped. The Israeli authorities must take immediate action to prevent such terrorist acts against civilians and ensure the safety of the Eritrean community. Propaganda canโt redraw maps, it only strains relationships. Distance is not a legal basis for land claims, history doesnโt grant sea โownership,โ and population size gives no right to territory. Recently, Al Jazeera, widely regarded as a propaganda tool of the UAE, published baseless and sensationalized accusations claiming that the Eritrean Defense Forces (EDF) were involved in widespread acts of "rape" during the conflict in Tigray. To be absolutely clear: rape and all forms of sexual violence are abhorrent crimes that must be condemned wherever they occur. However, falsely accusing the EDFโa military known for its discipline and strict code of conductโof such heinous acts without credible, verifiable evidence is both unjust and deeply irresponsible. This appears to be a deliberate effort to tarnish the reputation of Eritrea and its forces, likely motivated by ulterior political objectives. Itโs important to recognize that Tigray has long struggled with high incidences of sexual violence, even before the conflict. Activists and experts, including those from Tigray, have openly spoken about the alarming situation for women in the region. One activist notably referred to Tigray as "a hell for women" on national television. Professor Haregeweyn has also extensively documented the horrific conditions faced by women and children in Tigray well before the war began. Recently, even the Interim President of Tigray, Getachew Reda, admitted that the level of sexual violence within their own community is "truly alarming" and described the situation as "really scary." Rather than addressing these longstanding systemic issues, the focus has shifted toward fabricating accusations against external actors. This finger-pointing does nothing to address the real and deep-rooted problems, particularly the disturbing levels of sexual violence within Tigray itself. Itโs high time for outlets like Al Jazeera to stop spreading false narratives and politically motivated misinformation. Such reporting not only fails to bring justice to the actual victims of sexual violence but also undermines genuine efforts to solve the regionโs problems. Honest, unbiased journalism is essential for ensuring justice and addressing the root causes of suffering in Tigray, rather than scapegoating Eritrea for issues it did not create. ๐๐พHere are some pre-war studies on sexual violence in Tigray, which was already out of control.
