This will be my last day as a Co-Founder of OpenPhone (now Quo). Because starting today, OpenPhone is rebranding to Quo. Oh, and we've raised $105 million in growth financing to help businesses never lose a customer again. You probably have a lot of questions, so let me break down what's happening: 1) $105 million in growth financing We have raised $105 million in growth financing led by General Catalyst's Customer Value Fund and with participation of existing investors Craft Ventures, Slow Ventures, Garage Capital, and Y Combinator. This funding gives us the resources to invest further in what our customers love most and to help us reach more businesses. 2) Why OpenPhone is becoming Quo When Mahyar Raissi and I started OpenPhone in 2018, our mission wasn't just to help businesses make calls and send messages—it was to help them build stronger customer relationships so they could grow faster. You can even see in our YC application we described ourselves as "phone meets CRM." But as the years went by, we realized the name "OpenPhone" only tells part of our story. While it worked when we were focused only on the business phone, it started limiting where our customers needed us to go. With Quo as our name, we can finally tell the full story. Think of Quo as your business's customer hub, with phone at the center. It's how you win customers and keep them happy. Although our name has changed, what matters to us hasn’t. We are still obsessed with building great products and helping our customers never miss an opportunity. 3) What's changing with the product We're launching major upgrades to our voice AI agent Sona based on everything we've learned from our customers: - You can now start using Sona for free on all plans with our new tiered, usage-based model - Every customer gets 10 free Sona calls per month - Sona can now handle more sophisticated scenarios and can be trained on custom jobs - It can also now transfer calls to a human if needed -- To our incredible customers—we simply wouldn't be here without you. Thank you for trusting us to power your customer communications. Thank you to our team for the care and energy you’ve poured into making this milestone happen. And to our investors—thank you for believing in our vision.

Today, we launched our official Claude connector at Quo (formerly OpenPhone). Now you can get insights from every customer conversation, send bulk messages, update contacts, and so much more - all directly inside Claude. I've been using this every day to understand how things are going for our inbound sales team, what's working with prospects, and where the coaching opportunities are. With the Claude connector, I create a scheduled task that scores all the transcripts from our Quo phone number against 2 of our sales rubrics and outputs a report with a summary, score, and any coaching opportunities. Let's be honest, no manager has time to listen to and score 50 calls a day. But Claude does. Now I just check Slack every morning, where Claude delivers all the context I need. Every Quo customer with Claude now has this capability (and so much more). Connecting the tools takes minutes, and then work that used to require an Engineering team is only a prompt away. Huge shout-out to everyone on our team for shipping this! I can't wait to see what you build with it.

Today, we launched Quo (formerly OpenPhone) Tasks. Every phone system helps you talk to customers. Only Quo helps you follow through. When you're talking to customers, the goal is to get things done. Until now, there were really only 2 ways to track that work (and neither was great): 1. Hacking it in Quo 2. 3rd-party task management tools Either way, work falls through the cracks. Quo Tasks is the first time we're connecting the conversations you have with your customers to the work those conversations create. Now on any message, call, or transcript in Quo, you can create a task, assign it to yourself or a teammate, and set a due date. Every inbox also has a dedicated tasks tab right alongside chats and calls so your whole team can see everything that needs to be followed up on. I've been using this for work and personal, too. Recently, I was texting a friend about getting together and created a task right from the conversation. Not the most business-critical use case, but it showed me how easy it is to forget to follow up on things. If you're a Quo customer, let me know the first task you create. 🙂

Today marks an important day in OpenPhone (now Quo)'s history. We’re officially becoming a 2-product company. I’m excited to introduce Sona, our voice AI agent! 🎉 So what exactly is Sona? Think of it as your always-available team member that answers calls when your human team can't. It has natural conversations with your customers and collects all the information your sales team needs to follow up effectively, completely eliminating missed calls. What makes Sona special is that it's built right into your OpenPhone system where your team already collaborates. No more call forwarding to external services or losing visibility into what's happening. And you can easily review and audit its performance with full transcripts and AI-generated summaries of every call. We're already serving 60k+ businesses with OpenPhone, and I'm excited that we're now able to bring Sona to all of them. For the last 7 years, we've been focused on building our business phone system, gaining product-market fit, and scaling our team. But today, we're entering a whole new chapter with the launch of Sona. Every SaaS founder knows they'll eventually need a second product—some do it too early and get distracted, others too late when growth stalls. For us, this moment feels just right. I'm excited for what's possible with Sona and thought I'd create a Sona experience for the Founder to Founder newsletter. I trained Sona based on the content of the newsletter and all the posts that I've published. And now anyone can call and get information or ask questions about the newsletter without me having to be available to answer. Give it a try by calling 434-FOUNDER or (434) 368-6337 Would love to hear what you think! I'll leave more information about Sona in the comments.
