The fact that some fights focus more on ki attacks than physical ones doesn't make them bad; they're simply a different style. Vegeta vs. Baby Gohan and Goku SSJ vs. Super A-17 effectively utilize this fighting style and deliver interesting battles.

When Dragon Ball was the most tense, everything was in the hands of the Z Fighters. Now, if any villain is close to defeating them, they can ask for help from Bills, Whis, or Zeno-Sama. The tension that everything is over has disappeared forever in DB.
